VALERIE's HEAD BEGAN to ache. She frowned, squinting her eyes tight together as she began to come aware of her waking up. Her eyes began to slightly flatter open, only to her soon realising she was in a hospital room. The room was practically empty. All the walls were white. Other than the bed she laid in, there was a comfortable chair in the corner, along with a desk with draws, she assumed for her clothes. On top of the desk there would be multiple flowers. Roses, peonies and lilies.

There were no tulips.

Kelce always brought her tulips. He knew she loved them.

The though of Kelce began to scatter her brain. The last images of him flashing infront of her eyes. Her breath began to fasten, she wasn't able to breath. Valerie began to gasp for air, to her loss she wasn't able to. She was having a panic attack.

Just in the corner of her eye, she could see Rafe walk through the door, holding some chocolates and a letter. His eyes widened once he saw Valerie awake, leaving the chocolate's on the desk and finding himself quickly by her side. "Hey, Valerie. It's okay, your okay." He cupped her face with one hand, while the other one found  itself resting on top of her hand.

Her breath began to slow down when she saw Rafe. The feeling of his palm rest against her cheek calmed her down. "When did you wake up." He asked.

"Just a few minutes ago." Valerie spoke, now relaxed.

"You've been in coma for the past week, Valerie." Rafe began. Her eyebrows began to narrow as she tried processing what he had just said. "What-" she began to look around the room, trying to find her phone. "My parents, I need to call them." She panicked.

"It's okay, ive already spoken with them." He reassured her. "They're in town right now. I'll let them know that you're awake, if that's what you want."

Valerie nodded, giving him a reassuring smile. "And Kelce?"

Rafe's jaw tightened at the sound of his name. He shook his head before speaking up again. "He's tried to see you but none of us let him. He also has a restraining order, he can't be near you other than sixteen feet. Now that you're awake it's going to be your decision if you want to talk with him. Shoup also wants to know if you'll be pressing charges." He explained.

"I'll need time to think about that." She spoke quietly, a tear forming in her eye at the thought of her pressing charges on her own boyfriend.

"Take as much time as you need." He smiled at her, gently moving a piece of hair behind her ear. "You look much better now. The bruises have faden out."

Valerie looked at Rafe's eyes. She couldn't tell what it was about him that just made sense. Everyone knew Rafe as a drugged asshole. In Valerie's eyes he was different, he looked like a sunset on the beach. She smiled at him. "Thank you, Rafe." She spoke gently. "Thank you for taking care of me."

Rafe smiled back at her before standing up. "I'll call your parents to let them know they can come over." He took his phone out of his pocket and left the room.

Valerie was left in the room by herself, she began to think about what she was going to do as soon as she would be fully well. First, her thoughts began to travel her relationship with Kelce. She surely had to break up with him. She was in the hospital because of him. She loved Kelce but it wasn't good for her, she deserved better. She looked back at the flowers on the desk, scanning all of them. She hates tulips. She was glad there weren't any in front of her.
