A hole opened in the floor, the floor sliding to the side. A smaller cage for slowly lifting revealing... Revealing a furious Darker. A cloud of darkness surrounded it, only eyes shining out. The only thing that the beast wanted to do was get out. My friend in the meantime went to the very edge of the cage, to the bars. He was terrified. This wasn't a fight, it was a slaughter. Making him face a demon without giving him any tools to fight was not only cruel, but it was inhumane. It wasn't fair. The gate to the monster's cage slowly opened and it didn't take too long for the Darker to figure it out.

I felt someone grab my hand and I turned around sharply, ready to fight off whoever revealed me, but it was just Bellatrix.

"We have to do something. Boy's gonna get smoked!" she told me, squeezing my hand.

I looked back at Drake, walking away from the cage's opening, trying to move quietly. The darker at the same time was slowly adjusting to the new space around it, studying it and clicking its jaws at the people behind the bars. Drake was coming closer to us, so I shortened our distance and grabbed him by the shirt. He turned around and I saw his eyes light up from realizing that I was there. I didn't have time to explain what happened, people were staring at us, so it had to be short.

"Stay strong. I'm with you." I told him at let him go. From unexpected relief Drake slipped on a paddle of blood and some other liquid the origin of which I was afraid to assume. Darker immediately darted its eyes to him, roaring quietly and started approaching him. Shit. Shit shit shit shit!

Drake walked away from the monster, keeping his eyes on it, but it was obvious that he was trapped like a prey with a predator. The monster was roaring quietly, and making careful steps towards my friend.

"You've got to do something." Whispered to me Bellatrix.

"What?" my voice probably sounded desperate. The only thing that I wanted to do is swap places with Drake. He didn't deserve this slaughter, he got into trouble because of me.

"You have to use your power." She told me.

"I don't know what to do. I don't know how." I cried. Maybe I shouldn't have listened to my dad, maybe I should have practiced more and then I would be able to help my friend.

In the meantime, I watched the monster slowly come up to my friend, while he was still trying to run away. "Fighting against his fear". There was no fighting at all, just bloody murder. I couldn't believe this was happening. I tightened my grip on the bars even more until my hands turned white and numb. I could feel Darker's hunger, creeping and filling up the room.

"Olivia. Get yourself together, girl." She told me, shaking me a little to bring me back to life.

Darker growled louder, realizing that its prey was trying to run away from it. It seemed like Drake's heartbeat was heard by everyone in the room. He was trying to back off so fast that he slipped and fell right onto the dirty floor. That made Darker's eyes shine even more.

"Olivia, i can't be helpful here. You're the only one that can do something. Please, concentrate. We can't betray the boy." this time she was shaking my hand even more to get my attention, but I was scared, frozen and unable to do anything. This reminded me of my mom, how I was lying in my bad, too little to be able to help, unarmed and shocked.

The way the monster roared and moved, the way it glimmered in the dark made me shiver as it looked exactly like it was the same one. It jumped towards my friend in a moment, trapping him against the cage wall. Its claw lifted up, ready to strike.

"Olivia..." Bellatrix was giving up but I let go of my hand that was holding the bar and made it into a fist, concentrating on the Darker. His loud roaring that had enough power to cause an earthquake sounded in the room but was suddenly cut off, as the monster backed off, shaking its head.
