"Nice to see that you're back." Ed says and slides a glass of water towards Jonny. No point in offering alcohol. "Whats new?" He asks, gazing down at Jonny who runs his fingers through his hair, doing little to get the hair out of his eyes.

Jonny sighs and watches a drop of condensation on the side of the glass roll from the rim of the glass until it hit the wooden counter top. "Thats a big question to ask, Ed." Jonny huffs and finally looks up at the other man.

Ed sees the different look in his eyes and his curiosity and concern piques. "I'm intrigued. Tell me everything." He says and leans over the counter with a smirk, like a teenage girl about to find out who her friends crush is.

For a moment, Jonny really considers what he's going to tell Ed. How much, how in detail, how. "Well, I talked with Thom. Like, we actually talked about everything."

"Now, when you say that, how much of it was talking and how much of it was yelling?" Ed cuts him off and gives him a look.

"Well... most of it was yelling, I suppose." Jonny replies with a little sigh and a shrug.

Ed nods his head slowly "Alright, well, it's something." He says, his eyes fixed on Jonny. "And after that chat, where do you two lie?" Ed asks and Jonny swears his tone is cautious, like he doesn't really want to know what he has to say.

Well, Jonny knows they aren't exactly friends, but they aren't really more... not yet, at least. But at the same time they are less than friends as well. But do they really hate each other? Well, maybe sometimes... but he can't say they're enemies.

Jonny bites the inside of his cheek and looks up at Ed with his big, owlish eyes. "Frenemies?..." He says with caution to which Ed just nods again.

"Alright..." Ed says softly, his brows furrowed slightly as he looks Jonny over. "So... you did in fact let him crawl his scrawny ass back into your life?"

"Dammit, Ed! I don't know what else to do, okay?" Jonny whines, his voice a desperate plea for some sort of understanding. "I don't want to keep pushing him away. I want him back in my life more than anything right now, and I know I shouldn't be so soft on him, and I know he really doesn't deserve a second chance, but I don't know what to do, okay?"

Ed is almost surprised that Jonny is being so open and upfront, but of course, he isn't opposed to it.

"I am trying so hard to figure out what the hell is going on between the two of us right now, because it is confusing me more than him leaving in the first place did. I'm at a loss, Ed." He groans and buries his face in his hands and sighs heavily.

Ed continues to gaze down at him, his expression softening when he sees how conflicted and overwhelmed Jonny has become from all of this. He himself isn't quite sure what to say, so he stays quiet while Jonny sits there, head in his hands and silent.

After a bit, Jonny drags his hands down his face and then folds his arms over the counter again.

"You okay?" Ed asks softly, still gazing down at him softly.

Jonny sighs and nods, his eyes still down. "Yeah, just overwhelmed." He says and finally looks up at Ed.

Ed bites the inside of his cheek and now avoids Jonnys eye contact. "Sorry."

Jonny chuckles bitterly, shaking his head. "Don't apologize, Ed. It's not your fault I'm a mess."

Ed looks up, a flicker of guilt crossing his features. "You're not a mess, Jonny. You're just... dealing with a lot. And I get it. Thom coming back has stirred up everything you've buried for years."
