After breakfast, Jennie prepared a warm bathtub for Lisa and then returned to the bedroom, only to find Lisa still sprawled out on the bed, her eyes shut tight in a blissful slumber.

Jennie tiptoed over and leaned in close, her voice soft as she whispered, "Lili, time to get up. Your warm bath is ready."

Lisa slowly blinked her eyes open, her gaze locking with Jennie’s. She hadn’t bothered to put on any clothes, the blanket barely covering her bare skin. With a lazy pout, she murmured, "Nini, can you carry me, please? I don’t want to move."

Jennie couldn't help but chuckle at the sight of Lisa acting so adorable. She nodded, then with a teasing grin, yanked the blanket away, exposing Lisa's naked form to the cool air. Jennie’s eyes raked over her, lingering with appreciation before she smirked, "You know, you’re dangerously hot, mommy."

Lisa’s cheeks flushed a rosy pink, but she quickly recovered, smirking back as she replied with a sultry tone, "Of course, daddy. I am—hot like fire." Then, almost immediately, her voice turned innocent, "But now, hubby please, carry me?"

Jennie chuckled again, clearly enjoying Lisa’s playful antics. She leaned down, her arms slipping beneath Lisa's lithe body, lifting her effortlessly. Lisa instinctively wrapped her arms around Jennie's neck, her face nestling into Jennie’s shoulder, a soft sigh escaping her lips as she relished the warmth of Jennie’s embrace.

Jennie’s touch was both gentle and possessive, her fingers grazing over Lisa’s soft skin as she teased, "You’re wrong, Lili. You’re not just hot like fire—you’re like hell itself, burning me up from the inside."

Lisa blushed even deeper, her heart skipping a beat at Jennie’s words. As Jennie carried her towards the bathroom, Lisa could feel the tension in the air, the heat between them almost palpable. When they reached the tub, Jennie set her down with a playful smirk, her voice low as she murmured, "You know, Lili, if you keep wandering around like this, you’re going to drive me crazy."

Lisa looked up at Jennie with wide eyes, momentarily confused before she caught on to Jennie’s meaning. A mischievous smile spread across her face as she lightly swatted Jennie’s arm. "Kim, stop teasing! Or do you secretly want me to stay naked all the time?"

Jennie’s smirk widened as she carefully lowered Lisa into the warm water, her eyes never leaving Lisa’s. "You barely survived one night, Lili. If you stayed naked all the time, I’d make sure you’d never be able to walk again."

Lisa’s blush deepened, her heart racing as she playfully splashed Jennie with water. Jennie just laughed, enjoying the playful back-and-forth. She took her time washing Lisa, her hands moving with deliberate slowness, savoring the feel of Lisa’s skin under her touch. Every caress was tender, yet tinged with something more, something that made Lisa’s breath hitch.

Once the bath was done, Jennie wrapped Lisa in a plush towel, her movements gentle as she dried her off. But even in these simple touches, there was a lingering intimacy, each moment stretched out just a little longer than necessary. Jennie helped Lisa into her bra and underwear, her fingers brushing against Lisa’s skin with each adjustment, drawing out the process in a way that was both torturous and sweet.

After getting Lisa dressed, Jennie changed the bedsheets and then scooped Lisa back up, carrying her over to the freshly made bed. Jennie’s eyes softened, her voice filled with emotion as she whispered, "Happy anniversary, my Lili. My love, my life, my world, my everything. I love you more than words can ever express."

Lisa’s heart swelled with emotion. She bit her lip, smile as she whispered back, "Happy anniversary, Nini. I love you too, more than you’ll ever know."

"You can't walk, so we can't go out. What should we do now?" Jennie asked, her voice soft.

I stared at her, my thoughts swirling in a thousand different directions. I had promised Mingyu I’d meet him in an hour, but the idea of leaving Jennie right now felt unbearable. Today, of all days, I wanted to spend every moment with her. Maybe because deep down, I know we might never have a chance like this again.

Jennie is my first love—the one person who has always known me better than anyone else. I wish I could freeze time, stay in this moment with her forever. If only I had the money or if Jennie did, we could just escape from all of this, and I could be with her without any guilt. But life isn’t a fairytale, and I’m caught in a web of my own making.

I act cold around Jennie because of Mingyu. He hates it when I treat her with the affection I wish I could openly show. And I love him—I do. That’s why I distance myself from Jennie, trying to keep my heart in check, trying not to let her see just how much she still means to me. But the truth is, my heart is torn in two. I love Jennie just as much, maybe even more, but I can’t be with her, not the way I want to be.

I know I’m being selfish. I’m choosing money over Jennie, but I crave wealth and everything that comes with it, just like everyone else. I want to have it all—the luxuries, the power. And I know Mingyu can provide that for me, while Jennie can't. So, as much as it tears me apart, I’m going to let Jennie go. It's the hardest decision, but I feel trapped between desire and love. I’m choosing the security and opulence that Mingyu offers, even though it means leaving behind the one person who truly means everything to me.

But just for today, I want to pretend that nothing else matters, that we’re still the same Jennie and Lisa who once believed we could have it all. I know I’ll have to leave soon, but right now, I just want to hold onto this moment for as long as I can.

"Hon, where did you drift off to?" Jennie’s voice pulled me back to reality.

I shook my head, masking the turmoil inside with a casual smile. "Nothing, just thinking. How about we watch some Netflix today?"

Jennie’s eyes sparkled with enthusiasm as she nodded. "Great idea! I’ll go make some popcorn right away."

"Perfect," I replied, watching her bounce out of the room. As soon as she was gone, I reached over to the nightstand and grabbed my phone, my heart pounding with every passing second.

I quickly typed out a message:

To My Love ❤️: "Hey, I’m really sorry, but I can’t make it today. My condition's gotten worse, but don’t worry—I’ll make it up to you tomorrow." — 9:20 am.

Without a second thought, I powered off my phone, not wanting to give him the chance to call and break the fragile peace I was trying to hold onto. Today, I needed this time to be just for Jennie and me.

As I set the phone back down, a wave of guilt washed over me. I’m lying to Mingyu, and it’s not just about my health. The truth is, I’m sick—sick of pretending, sick of pushing Jennie away when all I want is to pull her closer. Today is my escape, a stolen moment where I can pretend that the world outside doesn’t exist, that it’s just Jennie and me, like it used to be.

But deep down, I know this is fleeting, that soon reality will come crashing back in. So for now, I’ll savor every second, holding onto the warmth of Jennie’s smile, the way she makes me feel safe, even if just for a little while longer.
