After a week.
The canteen buzzed with chatter as Soo Hyun, Seung Woo, and Mr. Bae occupied their usual table. Laughter and teasing floated in the air when GD (G-Dragon) strode in, a confident smile lighting up his face. All eyes turned as he made a beeline for Ji Won’s table.
Ji Won caught sight of GD approaching and shot a glance at Soo Hyun, her heart racing. But Soo Hyun was lost in conversation, oblivious to the tension building in the air.
GD reached Ji Won’s table, his demeanor playful yet serious. “Hi, Ji Won,” he said, flashing a charming smile that made a few girls nearby swoon.
Confusion flickered across Ji Won's face as she raised an eyebrow, silently questioning his intentions. What did he want?
Then, to everyone’s surprise, GD sank to one knee before her, his expression earnest. “I know you might not recognize me yet, and maybe you haven’t even noticed me these past days... but the moment I stepped off that plane from London and saw you…” He paused dramatically, letting the words hang in the air. “My heart began to race, and it’s been beating for you ever since.”
A hush fell over the canteen as students leaned in, curiosity piqued. GD's voice softened, filled with genuine emotion. “Ji Won, I’ve fallen in love with you. Please, give me a chance to court you.”
His heartfelt confession sent ripples through the crowd. Some gasped, others whispered excitedly, and Ji Won’s cheeks flushed a deep crimson. Her heart raced, caught between surprise and intrigue. She glanced at Soo Hyun, whose expression was unreadable, tension radiating from him as he finally turned to see what was happening.
The atmosphere crackled with anticipation as Ji Won’s eyes darted back to GD, who remained on one knee, patiently waiting for her response. Would she accept his bold proposal, or would she stand by her secret feelings for Soo Hyun?
Ji Won spoke softly, her tone filled with respect. “I don’t really know you, but I’m sure you’re a good person. Any girlfriend you have will be truly lucky…” She paused, her heart pounding as she steadied herself. “But I can’t let you court me.”
GD’s smile faltered, the confidence he wore like armor beginning to crack. “Why not? Is there something wrong with me?” His voice trembled, revealing the vulnerability beneath his bravado.
“No, it’s not that at all,” Ji Won quickly reassured him, gently placing a hand on his shoulder. “The truth is, I’m already interested in someone else.”
The weight of her words hit GD like a cold wave. His heart sank, disappointment crashing over him like a relentless tide. “But… I thought maybe we could have something special,” he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
Ji Won felt a pang of guilt. “I’m really sorry,” she added, her sincerity evident in her eyes.
As GD turned away, the air thickened with unsaid words and the echo of unfulfilled possibilities. He quickly left the canteen, emotions swirling inside him. Ji Won glanced at Soo Hyun, whose expression mirrored her own sadness.
Seung Woo’s tense posture suddenly relaxed. A slow, almost sinister smile crept across his face, pleased with the outcome. His eyes glinted as he watched GD leave the canteen, savoring the sight of the rejection he had just witnessed.
