Jennie hadn’t told anyone. She boarded a flight to Italy in silence, determination simmering under her calm exterior. As soon as she stepped off the plane, her private investigator was there, waiting.

"Good afternoon, Miss Kim," Mr. Lee greeted her professionally.

Jennie barely acknowledged him, letting out a small sigh. "Good afternoon, Mr. Lee."

"I’ve made all the arrangements, and I’ve gathered all the information about Miss Manoban as you requested. But before we proceed, where would you like to go first?" he asked carefully.

Jennie glanced at him, her sharp gaze cutting through the air. "Can we go directly to Lisa?"

The investigator nodded. "Of course, Miss Manoban should be at the restaurant where she’s been working."

A small, almost bitter smirk tugged at Jennie’s lips. "Lili... I’ve done my homework. You with that idiot Mingyu played me for almost a year—just for his money. But now, I’m a trillionaire. I’m sure the regret is eating you alive. I had so many plans for us... but now, all of that is for my baby. I’ll move on, but I don’t need anyone by my side. Love? Never again. My child will be enough."

Seeing Jennie lost in thought, Mr. Lee hesitated. "Miss Kim, are you still with me?"

Jennie blinked, her cold demeanor returning in an instant. "What did you say?"

"I asked if you wanted to head straight to the restaurant where Miss Manoban works," he repeated.

"Yes," Jennie said firmly. "Take me there. I don’t have time to waste."

In three days, Jennie would be officially crowned the CEO of Bae Group. She had to return to Korea, but not without Lisa. Mingyu won’t get anywhere near my baby, she thought grimly.

Mr. Lee simply nodded, opening the car door for her. They drove in silence, the weight of Jennie’s authority and cold power evident in every inch of her posture. She stared out the window, eyes dark with intent.

"Tell me everything else about Lisa," Jennie asked, her voice low but commanding.

"Miss Manoban lives in a small apartment. Her only friend here seems to be a man named Bambam, who owns the restaurant where she works."

At the mention of a male friend, Jennie’s stomach twisted with an ugly pang. Jealousy? She quickly pushed the thought away, reminding herself, Why should I care? Lisa is my ex-wife. She can be friends with whomever she wants—man or woman. I’m only here for the baby. Focus, Jennie.

But her inner mantra didn’t silence the flicker of possessiveness that still stirred in her heart. No matter how much Lisa had hurt her, the thought of Lisa with someone else—anyone else—was unbearable.

Her heart had turned cold, rejecting the idea of loving anyone again.

"We’ve arrived, Miss Kim," the investigator said, parking the car.

Jennie’s pulse raced as she stepped out of the car. She took a deep breath, trying to suppress the emotions swirling inside her. Adjusting her clothes, she followed the investigator into the restaurant, sunglasses hiding the storm brewing in her eyes.

As soon as Jennie entered, she felt the tension tighten around her chest. She scanned the room, searching for the woman she once loved more than life itself. Minutes passed, and Lisa was nowhere in sight.
