Are you finally happy? - Chester x Parker

Chapter 2

"I've been hearing noises. No one believes me." She shrugged, alongside a disappointed chuckle. She looked down on her hands, which gently quacked with nerves. A small thought of why that was happening coursed through her brain.
"What noises?" Parker asked, with genuine concern. Chester had never seen Parker like that before. He felt almost like Parker was distancing himself on purpose. He, as per usual, denied it. Who wouldn't, it's quite the an outrageous thought. Until you soon unfortunately realise the friendship you've been appreciating for so long is actually a ball and chain that you can only drag, not run freely with.
Or, as Parker would say, anxious bullshit.
"Just.. howls, or something.. moans or groans of sorts."
Parker's eyebrow flashed upwards as she said that.
"I don't think it's human." She admitted pretty quickly. "I've heard human noises that were.. similar." She seemed almost proud by this. "But none were like this."
Chester scoffed quietly and Parker turned to him. Chester shut the camera off quickly and began:
"You okay, man?"
"What was that?" Parker asked, sternly.
"Nothing." Chester started to prepare the camera but Parker flashed him a look.
"That was not nothing. She's pouring her guts out all over the table and you're just-"
"What? She's just being a bit over-the-top for the camera. There's no harm in that."
"Over-the-top? I'm- I'm in pain, being tortured by these monsters and I finally trust someone enough to admit that who believes me and you just sit there on your- thrown of- male superiority rather than helping me?" She turned to Parker, who was noticeably taken aback by her sudden outburst.
"That was unnecessary." He muttered.
"Just- let's just keep going." Chester sighed. He was too focused on the fact that Parker did not even stand up for his best friend but rather a girl he had just met, as per usual. He made sure to make that clear to him later. But it felt almost worse this time- like, as if the pain actually had an affect on him. He felt he was finally realising what the problem was, rather than dismissing it as "Parker's Personality."
