In a dilapidated old house that had been abandoned for many years, a young man with a handsome and delicate face, ignoring the dirty and chaotic environment filled with cobwebs, walked purposefully in one direction.
After turning a corner, he suddenly came face to face with a segment of blood-red, ominous characters on the wall. This terrifying sight in such a ghostly setting made the only person in the building at that moment, the young man, brighten up.
Standing in front of a wall painted with the words "This Building is Haunted" in red, he looked down along the drips of paint and saw the peeling wall revealing some green bricks.
Yao Ziqing's heart was pounding as he nervously glanced around. This was a small old building that had been abandoned for many years and had never been demolished for some unknown reason. He was in the basement corner of the building. Rumors of the building being haunted had always existed, and even during the bright daylight, very few people came here.
After confirming that he was alone, Yao Ziqing, with trembling hands, crouched down and began to carefully pull out the exposed green bricks.
As the bricks were slowly removed, sweat dripped from Yao Ziqing's forehead. He quickly pulled out several more bricks and found that there was indeed another space behind them.
Swallowing hard, he reached into the dark space and soon touched something fabric-like. Yao Ziqing's heart skipped a beat, and with trembling hands, he pulled out a large, black sports bag. Opening the zipper revealed that it was filled with old hundred-yuan bills, none of which were serially numbered as expected.
He zipped the bag back up and reached further inside, discovering another smaller bag. Opening this smaller bag revealed gold jewelry, gold bars, and some jade pieces. After making sure everything from the wall was retrieved, Yao Ziqing placed his hands on the bags, and they instantly disappeared.
Yao Ziqing glanced around warily, seeing no unusual activity, then placed the green bricks back in their original position. He dusted off his clothes and, suppressing his excitement, walked out casually.
Back at the hotel, Yao Ziqing took a shower, changed clothes, and then sat on the bed. The next moment, two bags appeared out of nowhere on the empty chair in front of him. Yao Ziqing began to count his haul for the day.
There was a total of five million in old bills. Although the value of the gold bars was unknown, with his foresight for the next five years, this capital was more than enough for him to survive in the apocalypse.
Moreover, he had a space that defied common sense.
He touched the ring on his index finger, which was the source of this space.
The space inside the ring seemed infinite, at least he couldn't feel its limits. However, it could only hold inanimate objects. He tried putting potted plants inside, but the plants had to be removed from their soil to fit. He speculated that the absence of air might be the reason, as he bought a decorative ball with live fish and water, but it also couldn't fit in the space.
Through repeated experiments, he confirmed that time inside the space was frozen, so a bowl of hot soup would still be warm even after a hundred years. With this space, he could start stockpiling supplies without worrying about them spoiling over time.
Since the cash was not in sequential order, using it wouldn't attract suspicion. As for the gold, although it could be exchanged for supplies in the apocalypse, converting it to cash now was the most cost-effective.
Fortunately, in his previous life, Yao Ziqing had worked as a bank client manager and was familiar with these matters. He knew some ways to convert assets without attracting trouble.
