It started raining at some point during the night. At first, it was just a light drizzle, but it quickly became heavier, as if someone upstairs was pouring water from a bucket.

Cheng Tao woke up and glanced at the other three beds. Seeing that they were still asleep, he got up and closed the balcony door. He could clearly feel the temperature dropping and, after looking at his own blanket and then at Yao Ziqing, he hesitated for a moment before using his blanket to nudge Yao Ziqing.

Having slept all day, Yao Ziqing wasn't very sleepy at night and could only be described as in a light sleep.

He had already woken up when the rain started, just as he had guessed, the weather had indeed changed today.

There was a faint sense of relief mixed with a touch of melancholy. The peaceful times would eventually become a thing of the past.

Yao Ziqing turned over and looked at Cheng Tao with wide-awake eyes. Seeing Cheng Tao preparing to get into bed with the blanket, he instinctively moved further into the bed.

Cheng Tao covered both of them with his blanket.

"This damn weather changed so suddenly, it's freezing. Let's squeeze together to stay warm."

Yao Ziqing didn't say much and lay back down.

Although he had suspected the weather might change, he hadn't prepared any extra thick blankets in advance because it felt like he would be predicting the future.

Though he had developed unusual feelings for his second brother, it was only for him. He never felt anything special about other men, so he didn't mind sleeping with Cheng Tao.

Cheng Tao could still smell Yao Ziqing's scent and feel his warmth, which made him feel drowsy but somehow fully awake.

He turned to face away from Yao Ziqing and felt a bit of the invisible pressure ease.

The light rain was like a lullaby, but the heavy rain was just noise. Yao Ziqing closed his eyes but didn't sleep at all through the night.

Before dawn, Su Li shivered as he got up to use the bathroom. Seeing Cheng Tao's bed was empty, he was surprised to find Cheng Tao sleeping in Yao Ziqing's bed, with both of them covered by two blankets.

Thinking about how he had been freezing and curled up last night, he couldn't help but mutter, "Damn it!"

After using the bathroom and glancing at Wu Wenqing, who was sleeping like a log, he hesitated for a moment before crawling back into his own bed and huddling under the blanket.

He was fine squeezing with Yao Ziqing, but squeezing with Wu Wenqing was a different story. He admitted he was a bit disgusted.

It wasn't about looking down on anyone; some people just had a cleanliness obsession.

As for why he was willing to squeeze with Yao Ziqing, well, this world is superficial, and no explanation was needed.

By early summer, it was already light around five or six in the morning. However, today it was eight o'clock, and the sky still looked as dark as if it might collapse any moment.

The rain had been pouring all night and showed no sign of letting up.

The first thing Yao Ziqing did when he got up was to call home, confirming that his eldest brother had prepared thick blankets for his grandmother the night before, so she hadn't been cold. This made him feel at ease.

Su Li got up and immediately started rummaging through the closet for warm clothes, wrapped in his blanket.

"Is it really necessary to be this extreme? One second it's summer, and now it's winter. This is going to kill me! You two are smart enough to know to sleep together for warmth, while I almost turned into an ice sculpture last night!"
