When Lei Li and Lei Xiao came back, Yao Ziqing and Lei Lang were sitting on the living room sofa, surrounded by several foldable fabric boxes. They were busy sorting through a bunch of large plastic bags full of groceries from the supermarket.

Lei Li was astonished. "Did you guys bring the supermarket back with you? What's all this?"

He looked through the bags and saw four large bags of puffed snacks, a bunch of chocolate-covered peanut bars, and various dried meats. Most of it was individually packaged chicken wings and drumettes. These snacks are very salty and spicy, which isn't great for the stomach. Lei Xiao frowned as he looked at it.

Lei Li shook his head. "If you like these, I can get you a few boxes from the city. It's much cheaper than buying them at the supermarket."

Hearing this, Lei Lang immediately looked up from his task of sorting the groceries and complained to his older brother, "I said I'd cover the bill, and Si'er totally ripped me off! He didn't go easy on me at all! Three thousand bucks! I've never spent that much in one go at the supermarket! Two full carts of stuff, almost couldn't fit it all! The back of the car was completely stuffed!" He shot Si'er a reproachful look. This was outrageous! Is this how you treat your older brother?

Lei Li laughed. "Take your time sorting everything. With this much, it should last you a month. Jinlei is cooking?"

"Yeah, Jinlei's in the kitchen. He bought some vegetables on the way back and got some sea fish, which is boneless. Grandma likes it. Third Brother's fish dishes are always terrible. Actually, he's bad at cooking anything!"

Lei Lang kicked Yao Ziqing, causing him to nearly fall off the sofa.

Yao Ziqing quickly scrambled up and called out to Lei Xiao, "Second Brother! Third Brother is bullying me!"

"He can't beat you."

Lei Lang "..." Damn! The older brother can't beat the younger brother, especially when the younger brother was once so weak! It's frustrating!

Yao Ziqing jumped onto Lei Xiao, who quickly supported him and used both hands to help him onto the sofa.

Yao Ziqing tightened his hold on Lei Xiao's legs. "Second Brother! Third Brother is bullying me and you haven't avenged me! He pushed me! He stole my snacks! And he accused me of ripping him off!"

Lei Xiao, holding the childish Si'er, felt helpless. Given the hot weather, they were wearing thin T-shirts, and their bodies were feeling even warmer with the contact. But Si'er was hugging too tightly and clearly didn't want to let go, so Lei Xiao had no choice but to carry him back to the room.

Seeing his older brother heading upstairs, Yao Ziqing kept calling out, "Hey? Hey! Second Brother, Third Brother is over there!"

Watching the stern-faced Second Brother carry off the fidgety Si'er, Lei Lang laughed uncontrollably on the sofa.

Xiao Wu lay on a small sofa, yawning widely, licking his nose, and then lazily wagging his tail with his eyes closed.

Once upstairs, Yao Ziqing snuggled up to Lei Xiao, leaned forward, and pecked him on the mouth. This was a bit tricky and required good core strength. Suddenly, Yao Ziqing remembered Second Brother once saying his core strength was lacking. It felt a bit awkward to think about it now.

Lei Xiao set him down on the bed and went to the wardrobe to get some clean clothes. Although the weather had cooled a bit, it was still quite hot compared to the peak summer heat. The current temperature was what summer should be like. But for them, it was already much cooler. It was clear that those who complained about the heat in summer had never truly experienced it. Having something to compare it to made them appreciate the coolness more!
