“Why are you dressed so nicely?”
Fuck… and here I was thinking I was going to be able to make my way out of the house without any input from Reina.
“I have a shirt and pants on. These are normal clothes.”
She mutes the television, waving her phone in the air, “Yeah but today you don't look tacky! Stand still let me take a picture!”
Picture this, picture that, wait right there while I cry about how big you're getting.
“Hah! See you later!” I shout out zooming out the front door.
Today is supposed to be a good day, I have all my paperwork signed, guardian agreements and-
Oh! I feel like I forgot to mention.
We're heading to New York!
Of course it took me a bit to have Reina to even agree to let me go back to the states.
She's reluctant over letting me go because my mother could be out there… somewhere.
And if she can't be there, she just… fears it.
Anyway~
I'm a grown woman-
Actually that sounds naive...
Humming softly, I half watched the puppet video we made as a class, Nino put it all together.
Puppet George Washington and puppet Frenchman Marquis de Lafayette were on the screen as the narrator wrapped up the video, “And that's how the friendship between American George Washington and Frenchman Marquis de Lafayette was born, between two men who believe that freedom should have no boundaries.”
Miss Bustier clapped her hands along with Mr. Damocles, “Congratulations! That truly was a sensational student film!”
“And completed just in time for our departure to French American Friendship Week... in New York!”
The others cheer excitedly.
Chloé huffs crossing her arms, “Ah! Good thing my parents aren't letting me go with you! Not seeing you all for a week will feel like a vacation!”
Mr. Damocles tilted his head, confused, “But, Miss Bourgeois, your parents already gave the authorization. You are coming along with everyone!”
“WHAT?! You're gonna hear from Daddikins!” She pulls up her phone… Why she acting like she isn't the one who tried her damnedest to go to New York like a few weeks ago?
“I, on the other hand, regret to inform you that I can't come with you after all.” Everyone glanced back at Miss Bustier.
“Oh, no! But why!?”
“I just have a few medical exams I couldn't postpone, because... I will soon be having a baby!”
Aweee.
“Olga Mendeleiev will be substituting Ms. Bustier.”
“Aw...!” “Damnit.”
“She's not cool! New York with her will be so lame!!” Kim complains not noticing the teacher walk in, “She won't let us do anything!”
“Something wrong, buddy?”
Adrien grimly smiles, “My father isn't going to let me go -- as usual.”
