Sapotis
I turned the television down listening to Marin on the phone.
She was speaking to Mrs. Césaire while Alya were playing with her sisters.
They are absolutely adorable and filled with ENERGY.
“Yes, Mrs. Césaire. The girls are ready for bed! Uh... technically speaking…” he chuckles, looking down at them, “Yeah, we're good. Enjoy the movie!” He ends the call.
Alya picked up her sisters, “Come on, bedtime, you little monsters! That's enough mischief for one day!”
“It's not us! It's the Sapotis!” They laugh being carried off to their room.
Leaning back against the couch I exhaled trying to relax. This social battery is almost drained completely.
Marin shuffles next to me, his shoulder brushing against mine, “You good?”
“As good as it's gonna get.”
Opening my eyes, I inwardly groaned seeing the bluenette staring at me.
Ignoring his feelings is honestly getting tiring.
Don't get me wrong, it's cute and all. Like having a little puppy following me around. But sometimes it is creepy.
He's calculated how fast it takes me to get to school so we can meet up around the same corner and walk together.
On my grocery shopping days he's almost always there.
He's treating me the way Marinette did Adrien, the difference is I'm not dumb enough to not notice it.
The stalker actions ain't... as cute as I thought it would be on those smut fanfictions I use to read.
He flinched, turning around to look at anything else, “So…”
Alya sets down a tray with a pitcher of orange juice and three glasses on the coffee table. A gasp left her mouth looking between us, “I-i’ll go get the plates!”
She quickly raced out of the living room, once again leaving Marin and I alone.
Shes also been working hard to try and get Marin more time with me.
I'll give it to her, she's a great wing woman.
“Uh…” the male fidgeted with his fingers, “Where are you sleeping tonight?”
Oh? A good question there.
Blandly, I glanced over to him, “Seems more normal to say I'll probably be on the same bed as Alya?” I mutter seeing his face fall. “But I wouldn't mind sharing the blow-up-bed with you, if you don't?”
And that made him explode.
“With me?! Seriously?!" He clears his throat, turning away to look unconcerned, "I mean- I don't mind.”
With a smile Alya walked back in.
Marin snapped back to some other conversation, flustered, “Oh… uh… You seriously have a technique down with your little sisters. But... uh, who are the Sapa... Sapo...?”
“The Sapotis? They're little monsters from a créole fable... who are always pulling pranks and making all sorts of mischief.” She sets down three slices of cantaloupe on each plate, “Now that we're all alone I can finally tell you two.” Alay pulls out her phone, “Apparently Ladybug has been around at least since the pharaohs. But no way can the Ladybug we know can be five thousand years old! So, I downloaded a great app that analyzed some recordings I had of his talking. Based on the frequencies of his voice, it turns out he's a guy our age!”
