The weekend had finally arrived, and Kuroo was buzzing with excitement as he boarded the train to Miyagi. He had texted Y/N earlier to confirm his visit, and she had sent him her address in return. The thought of spending the entire day with her made his heart race with anticipation.
After what felt like an eternity, the train pulled into the station, and Kuroo quickly made his way to Y/N's house. As he walked up the street, he noticed the signboard that read "L/N Residence" and felt a small wave of nervousness wash over him. Taking a deep breath, he knocked on the door.
The door opened, revealing a woman who looked almost identical to Y/N, though slightly older. Kuroo immediately recognized her as Y/N's mother.
"You must be Kuroo," she said with a warm smile. "I've heard a lot about you from Y/N."
Kuroo chuckled nervously, scratching the back of his neck. "All good things, I hope."
Y/N's mother laughed lightly and stepped aside to let him in. "Of course. Come in, Kuroo. Y/N is still getting ready, so you can wait here in the living room."
Kuroo entered the house, taking in the cozy and welcoming atmosphere. He spotted a young boy, Y/N's little brother Haruto, sitting on the couch, engrossed in a video game. Haruto glanced up, giving Kuroo a quick nod before returning to his game.
"Hey there," Kuroo greeted as he sat down beside Haruto. "What game are you playing?"
Haruto glanced at Kuroo, seemingly sizing him up before answering. "It's an action game. Do you play games too?"
Kuroo grinned. "Definitely. I'm pretty good at them too. What level are you on?"
As the two bonded over their shared love of video games, Y/N's mother watched them with a smile. "You two seem to get along well," she commented, her tone approving.
Just then, the sound of footsteps descending the stairs caught Kuroo's attention. He looked up, and his breath hitched in his throat. Y/N was coming down the stairs, looking effortlessly beautiful in her casual outfit. She paused when she saw Kuroo, clearly not expecting him to be there already.
"Oh, you're here," Y/N said, her usually composed demeanor faltering slightly. She quickly recovered, though, her face a picture of calm.
Her mother, however, couldn't resist teasing her daughter. "Looks like someone is blushing!"
Haruto, catching on, grinned mischievously. "Y/N, you're turning red!"
Y/N shot them both a look, her expression cool but with a hint of exasperation. "Let's go," she said to Kuroo, ignoring the teasing as she led him out the door.
As they walked down the street, Kuroo couldn't help but chuckle. "Your family is great," he commented.
Y/N rolled her eyes, though there was a small smile on her lips. "They're... something."
They made their way to a local café for lunch, where the atmosphere was relaxed and the food was delicious. Sitting across from each other, they chatted about everything from school to their favorite shows, their conversation flowing effortlessly. Kuroo found himself captivated by Y/N's calm, intelligent demeanor, and the way her eyes would light up when she spoke about something she was passionate about.
After lunch, Y/N suggested they visit Karasuno High. "I thought you might like to see the school where I manage," she said with a small smile.
Kuroo was more than happy to agree, and they walked to the school together. As they strolled through the familiar grounds, Y/N pointed out various spots, sharing stories about the volleyball team and the funny incidents that had happened during practice.
