At Nekoma...
Nekoma High's gym was alive with the sound of volleyballs echoing off the walls, the steady rhythm of practice broken only by the occasional shout of encouragement or instruction from Coach Nekomata or Coach Naoi. As the practice wrapped up, the two coaches gathered the team in a huddle, their expressions serious yet excited. Kuroo, wiping sweat from his brow, took his place in the circle with his usual smirk, eager to hear what they had to say.
"Listen up, everyone," Coach Nekomata began, his voice carrying a tone of authority mixed with anticipation. "We've been invited to a training camp at Shinzen High School."
The team exchanged looks of interest. Training camps were intense but valuable, providing a chance to improve and bond as a team. Coach Naoi stepped forward, adding, "This time, Karasuno will be joining us."
As soon as Kuroo heard the name "Karasuno," his mind immediately flashed to Y/N. He could still picture her cool demeanor as she managed the team, her composed expression when they spoke, and the way she carried herself with confidence. Before he knew it, a small smile tugged at the corners of his mouth.
Unfortunately for Kuroo, his moment of reverie didn't go unnoticed.
"You're thinking about her, aren't you?" came a familiar, monotone voice.
Kuroo blinked and turned to find Kenma staring at him, his usual nonchalant expression in place. "What? No, I'm not," Kuroo quickly denied, his tone slightly defensive.
Kenma simply raised an eyebrow. "You are."
"I'm not."
"You are."
"I didn't even say it was Y/N!" Kuroo blurted out, realizing his mistake a second too late.
Kenma's eyes glinted with a hint of mischief. "So it is Y/N."
Kuroo let out an exasperated sigh. "You're impossible."
Their back-and-forth caught the attention of Yaku, who had been observing the exchange with growing amusement. "Oh? What's this? Our captain is looking forward to meet the manager, huh?" Yaku teased, a sly grin spreading across his face.
Kuroo groaned, realizing that he was about to be the subject of the team's entertainment for the next few minutes. "No, Yaku, it's not like that."
But it was too late. The entire team was now focused on him, their eyes gleaming with a mix of curiosity and the desire to tease their captain. Lev, always eager to join in on the fun, leaned in with a grin. "Kuroo-senpai, is it true? You like the Karasuno manager?"
"I never said that!" Kuroo protested, but his words were drowned out by the collective laughter of his teammates.
"I don't know, Kuroo," Yaku continued, clearly enjoying himself. "You've been awfully distracted lately. Thinking about someone special?"
