Kuroo's POV:
After Kuroo wrote his number on Y/N's hand and exchanged his goodbyes, he made his way to the bus, eager to return to the comfort of his teammates. Yaku, waiting by the bus door, raised an eyebrow as Kuroo approached.
"So," Yaku began with a smirk, "what was that about? You seemed pretty engrossed in a conversation with the Karasuno manager."
Kuroo flashed a casual grin. "Just making a new acquaintance. Y/N seems like an interesting person."
Yaku raised an eyebrow. "Interesting, huh? Did you get her number or something?"
Kuroo's grin widened. "You could say that."
Once everyone was aboard and the bus began moving, the team settled into their seats, chatting about the match. Kuroo, however, found his thoughts drifting back to Y/N. Her composed demeanor and calm responses had left an impression on him. He replayed their conversation in his mind, wondering if he would get to know her better.
Kenma, who had noticed Kuroo's distant expression, decided to prod. "You seem distracted. Something on your mind?"
Kuroo snapped back to reality. "Yeah, just thinking about today's match and... other things."
Kenma raised an eyebrow. "Other things?"
Before Kuroo could elaborate, the rest of the team, having overheard the exchange, began to chime in. The bus filled with their teasing and questions.
"Looks like Kuroo's got something else on his mind!" Yamamoto called from the back.
"Yeah," Kai added with a grin, "did you hit it off with the manager or something?"
Kuroo rolled his eyes, trying to play it cool. "Not really. We just talked for a bit. I gave her my number."
The teasing escalated. "Ooh, Kuroo's got a crush!" Yaku shouted, prompting laughter from the team.
"Shut up," Kuroo said, though he couldn't help but smile at the playful banter. "We had a nice chat, that's all."
Kenma, not missing a beat, decided to join in. "You were pretty focused on her. What's the story?"
Kuroo sighed, realizing he was in for a round of relentless teasing. "Fine, whatever. We had a conversation, and I gave her my number. Happy?"
The team burst into laughter and began throwing around playful comments and speculations about Kuroo's "new interest." Kuroo took it in stride, his thoughts occasionally drifting back to Y/N. Despite the teasing, he felt a genuine interest in getting to know her better.
As the bus ride continued, the team's chatter and laughter filled the air. Kuroo's thoughts were a mix of amusement and curiosity. The playful teasing had become background noise to his musings about Y/N.
When the bus finally pulled into the Nekoma school grounds, the team disembarked, still buzzing from the day's events. Kuroo made his way to his room, feeling both satisfied and a bit worn out. He quickly had dinner, took a refreshing shower, and then flopped onto his bed, ready to unwind.
As he relaxed, his phone buzzed with a notification. He picked it up and saw a message from an unfamiliar number. His heart skipped a beat as he realized it was from Y/N.
Y/N: Hey Kuroo, it's Y/N. Just wanted to thank you for the chat earlier. I'm heading to bed now, but it was nice talking to you.
Kuroo's face lit up as he typed a response.
Kuroo: Hey Y/N! It was nice talking to you too. Hope you had a good day. Sleep well!
He waited eagerly for her reply, feeling a small thrill at the thought of continuing their conversation. A few moments later, his phone buzzed again.
Y/N: Thanks, I did have a good day. I'm heading to bed now. Talk to you soon.
Kuroo felt a sense of satisfaction as he read her message. He quickly typed back one final message before setting his phone aside.
Kuroo: Goodnight, Y/N. Talk to you soon!
With that, Kuroo turned off his phone and settled into his bed. The day had been full of unexpected turns, and as he drifted off to sleep, he couldn't help but look forward to what might come next. The encounter with Y/N had added a new and intriguing element to his life, and he was eager to see where it might lead.
As he fell asleep with a contented smile, he dreamed of volleyball, friendly banter, and the potential for new connections. The practice match had been more than just a game; it had sparked something new and exciting, and Kuroo was ready for whatever came next.
