Part 23

"Misconceptions."

"Someone opened the case?" Jeonghan asked and Old Han nodded in a disappointed manner.

"But we haven't prepared for it, who could've?" He asked and he looked at me in a questioning way.

"Did you secretly appointed for it to be opened?"

"N-No, I know we still have to figure things out from it so I didn't until you say so." I replied and Jeonghan's brows furrowed.

"Did anyone knew about this?"

"No, Master Han. I have received it firsthand and I made sure no one had opened it except you." Old Han replied and bowed in meaning of him leaving first.

"Jeonghan.." I called as Jeonghan closed the door and walked away from me with his aura exceeding darkness.

"Hana, are you sure about what you said?" He asked and his back is still turned to me. I know I never contacted anyone opening the case without Jeonghan's consent so I'm sure I wasn't the one behind it.

"I swear, Han. I didn't."

"I thought we're doing this properly?" He asked and turned to me, waving the folder with frustration.

"I-I swear! I didn't filed for it!" I defended and he sighed, throwing the folder down the table and he held both of my shoulders.

"Hana, I know you wanted this, but don't you think you're being secretive?"

"Han, please... I swear I didn't do anything behind your back. Please, y-you have to believe me.." I said and he sighed, taking off his hands on my shoulders and took his coat.

"Where are you going..?"

"Somewhere. Don't wait for me to come back." He replied and took his car keys and left.

"What's wrong, Mommy?" Aaron asked and I sighed as I sat down.

"Nothing, Dad and I just had some sort of.. u-uh.."

"Did you fight?"

"N-no! S-some kind of u-uh... just a misunderstanding."

"Oh.. Is it about me being his kid or not?" Aaron asked that made me look at him in shock.

"Aaron, you are his child. I don't think there's anymore time to keep this from you but... we were separated when I had you."

"So does that mean he thinks I am not his child because you are not together and he thinks I'm from another guy?" Aaron asked and suddenly, someone knocked on the door and I was surprised to see two policemen showing their badges.

"We would like to speak to Mr. Yoon Jeongha—"

"Wait, aren't you..."

Yoon Jeonghan's POV

"So... Hana is alive?" Jisoo asked and I nodded, having a sip of my coffee.

"Does anyone else knew? Like.. the Press maybe?"

"What do you mean, Press?" I asked and he was abacked, not knowing what to say next.

"I-I thought you opened the case?" He asked and I placed down my cup of coffee and approached his table, placing both of my hands on it as I stood with authority upon him.

"I didn't, and she claimed that she didn't as well. It's hard not to believe but the look on her eyes are quite convincing."

"But I don't know, she could've slipped into someone and asked to open the case." I continued and Jisoo opened the file and furrowed his eyebrows as he opened an envelope that caught my attention.

"Wait, what's that?" I asked Jisoo and he shrugged his shoulders and handed the envelope to me, as far as I remember, I don't remember the envelope being there or even opened if it's there but I just didn't noticed it.

I opened the envelope and what really surprised me is what it contains that made my hand amd breath violently shake.

"I-It can't be..."

Hana's POV

"Yes, I-I was alive... I-It's a long story but... w-who opened the case?" I asked as I placed down two cups of coffee for the two detectives that was escorted by the two policemen earlier.

"Miss Choi, we received a mail two days ago and there was a letter attached to it and the letter was regarded by you, pleading to re-open the case 6 years ago." The detective named Sam said and handed me a photo of the letter. I couldn't believe it the moment I saw how similar the writing is to mine, I swear I never tried to contact the office about this until Jeonghan's notice.

"N-no way, you got the wrong person. I never wrote this." I said and the two detectives looked at each other then back to me.

"Ma'am, the letters were identical to yours, we ran a comparison of your letter to the lab and it matched your writing, not to mention the name and the signature?" Detective Sam said and when I was about to speak, the door busted open and Jeonghan appeared at the door.

"You leave her alone, she didn't do anything." Jeonghan said and pulled me away from the two detectives and the policemen who pointed their gun at Jeonghan.

"We just wanted to talk and investigate, Mr. Yoon." Detective Sam said and ordered the police to drop the gun pointed towards us.

"No, I didn't authorized this investigation and I will be calling a lawyer for this. She's not responsible for sending the letter."

"Do you know who sent it?" I asked and he looked back at me and showed us an envelope and he opened it, showing us a photo of the letter and a page of a note with a writing same to what's in the letter.

"That's my missing ripped note for my published book..." I said and Jeonghan nodded, handing it to the detective.

"I am her fiance and I have known her writing, the way she uses the cursives and when she writes in Hangul. This is fraud, this is false accusations." Jeonghan said and the detective bowed down and apologised.

"We apologize for the disturbance Mr. Yoon, but we will further investigate about the letters to find out who wrote and sent it and we will notify you right away."

The cops left and I looked at Jeonghan who's watching the cops as they leave. I walked up to his back and hugged him, burying my face on his shirt.

"Jeonghan, I'm so sorry.. I really didn't do anything.."

"I'm sorry for ever doubting you."

"But... w-where did you get the ripped page of my book..?" I asked and he looked back at me, holding my waist and pulled me closer to him.

"Everything is way beyond bigger than the both of us. For now, please just don't ever get out of my sight.."

"I can't risk to lose you once more."

Y'all, it's been a long while. I bumped into an accident and I had to be hospitalised for awhile which is why I couldn't update the chapters sooner. Sorry for making y'all wait for me everytime.
