"You WHAT?" Bee squealed when Aiden told her why he had gotten there so late.

"Please don't scream like that." Aiden said, wincing and covering his ears.

"You spent two whole hours with a girl cleaning because your dad got drunk? And you dropped her home?"

"Yeah, why?"

She smirked, crossing her arms. "Inside. Now. Lasagna reveals everything."

"We've been over this Bee, it doesn't." Aiden grumbled.

The lasagna revealed everything.

"What's her name again?" Brynne asked him.

"I think you're friends with her."

She spit out her soda. "You met Aru? Aru Shah?! Devourer of Swedish Fish? Lord of the Rings maniac? Most chaotic person on Earth?"

"Well I didn't know all that!"

"So you did meet her." Brynne snorted. "You guys shall see eachother again. I shall make it happen." She laughed.

"Please don't get in the middle."

"Shoulda thought of that before you started telling me about how you told her about your shitty father? And you asked if you could text her sometime? And you think she's pretty? And you watched the ball drop with her? Oh yeah, here's the highlight. You got a creepy asshole whom I will find and dump in a garbage can so he rots there for eternity, to go away? When you always say that you hate people who do that but you've always been too scared to actually say anything?"

Aiden rubbed his temples. "I'm not gonna be able to see her again, as much as I want to. I go back to college in two days."

"She goes to the same college as you, you know. UNC Chapel Hill. And if you go back in two days, you guys will see eachother tomorrow. I'll make sure of it." Brynne grinned.

"Oh shit. You've got that look."

"Meet me for froyo tomorrow at one."

"It's the middle of winter for gods sake, why're we getting frozen yogurt?"

The next day, Aiden took his car and drove over to the froyo place him and Brynne always went to whenever he visited New York. When he walked in, he saw Brynne at the table, with two froyos on either side. "Why'd you order for me?"

"Didn't feel like spending hours waiting for you to take a million samples decide you don't want froyo, then hold up the line tryna decide how much to leave in the tip jar as an apology."

He groaned. "Only happened twice Bee."

"At this froyo store. Back in Atlanta, you were banned from six stores."

He looked down at his shoes shamefully. It was not not true.

"Okay, so I got you a mix of both chocolate and vanilla, cos I know you like both with fudge pieces, M&Ms, and caramel syrup."

He smiled a little at her. "Extra marshmallows?"

"I'd be a demon if I didn't." she said, laughing. He looked at hers. Classic Brynne, piling on as many flavors and toppings in a 24 ounce cup as she could. "Must've cost a fortune, given New York."
"It's worth it. Now, sit Ammamma."

They started talking about college when ten minutes later, a girl with a black Harry Potter hoodie and sweatpants came upbto Brynne, her long, dark black her in a braid. "Hey Bry-" She looked at me, eyes widening.
