"Today was a fairytale, all that I can say..."

Before they left, Aiden had one thing he had to do, which was visiting his mom. She lived right across the museum, and Aiden wouldn't be seeing her till graduation if he didn't go now.

                                                                       mom<3:

You: i'll be there in five minutes, i'm getting my shoes on now.

mom<3: Okay! If you would like you can bring Aru too.

You: what?

mom<3: Yeah, wasn't it her birthday yesterday? Isn't that why you're in town? I haven't seen her and Krithika in so long, she can come with!

You: uh okay then mom let me go tell her

"Shah?" he called out. She ran to the stairs, breath heaving. "Yeah?"

"Do you want to come with me to see my mom? She offered for you to come."

Her eyes brightened. "Meet, your mom?"

"Yeah. Why, is there something wrong with that?"

"No! It's fine! Let me change and we can go!" After five minutes, she came down, wearing a white shirt, jeans, and a gray jacket.

"Stop looking Wifey. Your mom's waiting." She smirked and walked out the door with Aiden following behind her, a little stunned.

Aiden rang the doorbell, a little nervous.

"Ace-Cakes! And Aru, it's so nice to see you, it's been so long! Come inside, it's cold!" His mom said and shut the door.

"It's nice to see you again too aunty! How are you?" she said, grinning.

"I'm fine, beti. I'm just making some food! Ace-Cakes, could you show Aru around please?" He nodded and started with his room.

"Ace-Cakes?" she whispered to him, laughing. "Don't you dare question it." he warned. "Wow this house is huge." she mumbled in disbelief.

"Yeah, it is. After my mom was-" His words were caught in his throat, like a net.

"After she was basically kicked out by her family, it took her some time to get to where she is now. She became a really  successful microbiologist, and my dad became a lawyer. So they're both really well off."

"Yeah, no shit Sherlock." She smiled, kicking him playfully in the leg.

"Ace-Cakes, food's ready!" his mom called out.

"You're gonna hold that over my head for the rest of my life, aren't you?" Aiden sighed.

"What do you think, Ace-Cakes?" Aru beamed, going back to the kitchen.

Aiden raised his eyebrows, mildly surprised at the amount of food on the table. His mom had always been a good cook, but this looked amazing. There was dosa, idli, peanut and coconut pachadi, vadas, upma, and sabudhana khichdi. (a/n: if you don't know what those are, they're indian breakfast foods. i put those in because they're all my favorites and they're what i thought of first. if you haven't already, TRY THEM THEY'RE LITERALLY SO GOOD!! also i really hope i spelled them all right i spelled it how i say it lol. also i think you're supposed to put words like that, ones that are in a different language in italics but i'm not sure but i did it anyways soooo DEAL WITH IT)

"You didn't have to cook all this!" he said, laughing and looking at her.

"But I wanted to beta. Sit, sit! It'll get cold!"
