It wasn't raining anymore. That was a plus. Aiden hated the feeling of his clothes getting soaked and damp and heavy within less than five minutes of going outside. He remembered having to stay in the rain for an hour, shivering in the darkness while his parents fought inside again.
But that was over with now. The sun was starting to come out, and he waited in anticipation daily for crossing off another day off of his calendar until the day of graduation. Where he could move back home and yet still be on his own.
Freedom.
mom<3:

"Cuz! Cuz, cuz cuz!" Rudy barged into his room, beaming. "What outfit do I wear for your graduation?"
He pulled out two bedazzled white suits, one with red gems and one with blue gems.
"I don't know, the blue's more my color but the red makes a statement, and we always love a statement, but at the same time-"
"Rudy?"
"Yeah?"
"Neither. Not in a million years." He sighed. "Fine."
Aiden went back to his essay, but Rudy lingered there.
"What?"
"I just think that the suit really deserves more-"
"Go!"
mom<3:
mom<3: He says he'll be in town but he'll have to take Annette and his kid, Brian
You: oh. will he be staying?
mom<3: I don't think so, it'll solely be for your graduation. He'll be leaving right after, he says he's going to Mexico with them the next day.
You: wouldn't really expect any different from him
mom<3: Who knows? Maybe he'll be better because he'll be with Annette and Brian!
You: maybe mom. i wouldn't count on it.
Two days later, his graduation cap and gown came in the mail. He hung it up carefully next to his mirror.
Five more days.
Four more days. He went to go take photos in his cap and gown. The photographer took a bunch. They were good, but not as good as his. They were available digitally, so he'd have to edit them on his computer when he got home. (a/n: idk how the photography thing works but my sister said that when she graduated college everybody got professional photos done in their cap and gown at unc. i dont know the timeline or anything for that so we're just gonna go with it lol.)
