Arien and Arjen's POV-
Arien and Arjen stood in the midst of a large room. Gold decorations and luxurious items surrounded them in all directions, displaying the extravagance and importance of the owner of the room.
Yes, it belongs to the emperor.
Only two hours prior, their room was destroyed. They were then escorted to the emperor's room under the order of the emperor.
The atmosphere was stifling.
Arien and Arjen turned to look at each other, before beginning to speak in telepathy.
'I hate this..'
'Me too.'
'If we asked Ishina what happened, she would have answered us. But now that I think about it, what happened to her?'
'Though she did treat us like we were pathetic, she didn't look at us with contempt or mistreat us. She would take care of our every need and tell us any necessary information. She was the only person in this place we were slowly getting used to.'
'But, once again, the situation changed without any regard for our opinions..'
Arien and Arjen simply stood there silently, until they were approached by several maids.
"Your imperial highnesses. We've prepared some simple snacks for you. Please rest comfortably and enjoy the snacks."
Once again, Arien and Arjen exchanged glances.
'How do you expect us to have an appetite right now?'
While the two stared at the maids in disbelief, a thundering step sounded from behind. They froze, turning around to face the man.
'The emperor!'
They froze. The emperor, noticing this, only sighed and walked away.
"Sit comfortably."
Still, none of them could compose themselves in front of the emperor.
Arien took charge, staying close to Arjen while looking at the emperor with trembling eyes.
"W-what do you want from us?"
The emperor stared at her coldly before answering.
"Did you not hear me? From now on, you'll be staying here. I can't let you stay in that room after what happened. This room is the safest room in the palace, so-"
The sound of someone retching cut him off. Turning slowly, he and Arjen could see Arjen hunched over, vomiting, then coughing.
'This is Arjen's response to stress..'
