Ling's pov
I was at the mall with Milk and Freen, just another typical Saturday. We'd fallen into a comfortable routine of hanging out every weekend, laughing, and enjoying each other's company.
As we strolled past various shops, chatting and joking around, something caught my eye. It wasn't unusual to see couples walking hand in hand at the mall, but this couple wasn't just any random pair. They were seated in a cozy corner of a restaurant, and it took me a moment to process what I was seeing. Bright and Orm. Together. My heart skipped a beat, and I felt a pang of something I couldn't quite identify—jealousy, maybe?
Milk and Freen must have noticed the sudden change in my demeanor because they quickly dragged me to Amor Caffe, a quiet little spot we often visited, to talk it out.
"Spill the tea," Freen urged as we settled into a corner booth, her eyes gleaming with curiosity.
"What's going on with you?" Milk asked, her tone concerned yet laced with excitement, as if she already knew the answer.
"You two saw them, right?" I asked, though I knew the answer.
"Of course," Milk replied, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
I hesitated before finally confessing, "I don't know why, but suddenly Orm just looks... so pretty to me. Like, unbelievably beautiful."
Freen grinned, trying to keep things light. "She's always been pretty."
Milk shot Freen a warning look, but Freen just shrugged. "Hey, I'm with Becky. I'm just saying Ling isn't crazy."
"I know she's always been pretty," I admitted, feeling my cheeks heat up, "but now, she looks like a goddess or something. Her face... it's like it was sculpted by the best artist in the world, and her body... I mean, she's perfect."
"Our little Ling is in love," Milk teased, her eyes twinkling with pride.
I rolled my eyes, trying to hide how flustered I felt. "I'm older than both of you, remember?"
"And? You're still our little sister," Milk said with a playful wink.
I sighed, the weight of reality crashing back down. "It's never going to work, though. She's straight."
"You're always saying that," Freen interjected, her tone a mix of frustration and understanding.
"Because it's true," I replied, trying to keep my voice steady. But just as I said it, I glanced out the café window and saw them kissing. My heart sank. "You've got to be kidding me."
Milk handed me her drink, smirking. "Here, drink this. Maybe it'll help you swallow that jealousy."
"Why is this happening to me?" I groaned, slumping in my seat.
"It's been happening for two years. You're just finally acknowledging it," Freen started, but her words trailed off as the door to the café opened.
There they were—Bright and Orm—walking in as if the universe was conspiring against me.
They made their way to the counter to order, and Bright noticed us almost immediately. With a smile, he led Orm over to our table. My heart pounded in my chest, and I quickly whispered to Milk and Freen, "Please don't let me say anything stupid."
"Hey, Ling!" Bright greeted us with his usual, easygoing grin.
"Hi, guys," Orm added, her voice soft and kind, her eyes meeting mine for the briefest of moments.
"What brings you two here?" Milk asked in her friendliest tone, trying to keep things casual.
"Yeah, you were just at a restaurant," Freen chimed in, her curiosity evident.
