Narrator's pov

As Ling entered the room, she went straight to the shower, the cool water cascading over her in an attempt to sober up. She let the spray wash away the remnants of alcohol-induced haze, the chill of the water sharpening her senses. After a few minutes, she stepped out, wrapped herself in a plush robe, and made her way to the bed, where she plopped down with a sigh, reaching for her beer bottle.

She took a long, slow sip, the bitterness of the beer contrasting sharply with the lingering sweetness of the cocktails from earlier. The room was quiet except for the soft hum of the air conditioning, and Ling's thoughts were a jumble of confusion and discomfort.

The door creaked open, and Orm walked in, her presence immediately drawing Ling's attention. Orm's gaze was a mixture of concern and annoyance as she took in Ling's disheveled state. "Where's my drunk friend?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.

Ling took another swig of her beer, deliberately prolonging the moment. "Come on, stop drinking," Orm said, stepping closer and reaching for the bottle. Ling frowned slightly but allowed Orm to take it from her.

"My friend," Ling mumbled, almost as if trying to reassure herself, though she was already regretting the decision to drink so much.

Orm shot her a look that combined frustration with a touch of tenderness. "I'm your friend," she said, then took a decisive gulp of the beer, emptying the bottle with a grimace. "Mean."

"I am," Orm agreed, walking over to her nightstand and retrieving a small bottle of medicine. She returned to Ling, holding it out. "Take this. It'll help with the hangover."

Ling glanced at Orm's attire—a bikini that she had not yet changed out of. "You know, it's hard to look at you with that bikini on," Ling said, her voice carrying a mix of teasing and genuine discomfort.

Orm smirked slightly. "I'll change soon. For now, just rest."

Ling nodded, grateful for Orm's presence and care. She took the medicine and leaned back on the bed, feeling the comforting weight of the situation settling around her.

Ling's POV

The next morning, I awoke with a pounding headache and a surprising sense of comfort on my chest. The weight was not unpleasant; it was warm and reassuring. Opening my eyes, I saw Orm nestled against me, her head resting on my chest. I gently began stroking her hair, hoping the soothing motion might help ease my throbbing head.

Orm stirred and blinked sleepily. "Good morning, sleepyhead," i murmured, my voice muffled but cheerful.

"Good morning, bed," she responded with a soft laugh, relieved to see me in such close proximity. "You got a headache, don't you?"

"How did you know?" I asked, my eyes still heavy with sleep.

"Pain is written all over your face," she replied, trying to ignore the dull ache in her own head.

"It's part of my hangover. I'll be better soon," i said, stretching and yawning, my voice tinged with humor despite the discomfort.

A knock on the door interrupted us.

"Enter!" Orm and I said in unison, both of us still in a relaxed state.

The door opened, and Milk poked her head in. "Orm, can we steal our friend for a sec?"

"Of course," Orm said, smiling as she helped me sit up. "She's got a bad hangover, so take care of her, please."

"We will," Milk assured her with a smile.

As I shuffled out of the room with Milk, we settled into a quiet corner where Freen was already waiting, looking particularly animated.

"Girl, you have to see how Orm looked at you last night," Freen started, her eyes wide with excitement.

"What do you mean?" I asked, trying to process the previous night's events and Freen's cryptic comment.

"When I asked you to go in and out of the pool, I was testing something. Orm was practically drooling as you left the pool," Freen explained, a knowing grin on her face.

My cheeks flushed as I tried to piece together the significance of Freen's observation. "Are you serious?"

"Absolutely," Freen confirmed, her grin widening. "She was totally hypnotized by you. I could tell she was watching you with something more than just friendly interest."

I was speechless, my mind reeling with the implications of Freen's words. It seemed there was more to Orm's feelings than I had realized, and it made me rethink everything about our interactions and the complicated emotions we had been navigating.
