 Ling's POV

"I hate her!"

"Ling?" Faye's voice was laced with concern as I barged into her office, my heart pounding with a mixture of anger and heartbreak.

"I hate her, and I hate my brother!" I spat out, the tears streaming down my cheeks, unstoppable and relentless.

"Calm down," Faye said softly, trying to soothe me, but her words barely registered.

"I hate how she tricked me into believing she loved me when she didn't!" I cried out, my voice breaking as the pain inside me overflowed. I felt utterly shattered, as if every piece of me had been torn apart.

"Okay, okay," Faye murmured, pulling me into a tight embrace, her hand gently stroking my hair. "Tell me what's going on."

"Orm broke up with me!" I choked out, my chest heaving with the weight of those words, words I never thought I'd have to say.

"Why?" Faye asked, her voice full of shock and disbelief.

"She said she didn't love me," I sobbed, burying my face in her shoulder. "She said she only did everything because she was pretending I was my brother...because she couldn't have him."

Faye held me tighter, her arms wrapping around me like a lifeline as my world fell apart. "I'm never going to get back with her again!" I vowed, my voice fierce even through the tears.

"Okay, Ling, I got it," Faye whispered, still holding me close. "But you need to calm down."

Orm's POV

My father wasn't bluffing. He really did send me to the U.S. But I wasn't alone—when I told my friends what happened, Becky and Charlotte insisted on coming with me. They moved into the apartment my dad had arranged, and while I was grateful for their support, guilt gnawed at me. They were separated from their girlfriends because of my situation, and I hated seeing the sadness in their eyes.

"Hey, stop worrying about us," Becky said, nudging me out of my thoughts. "Now, tell us, what really happened?"

"I had to break up with Ling because my dad ordered me to," I confessed, my voice heavy with regret.

"Shit," Charlotte muttered under her breath. "Do you want us to tell her that?"

"No, never," I said quickly, shaking my head. "I broke up with her, and now I want her to move on. I want her to be happy with someone whose dad isn't like mine."

"But you love her," Becky pointed out, her tone both gentle and accusatory. "Why are you giving up?"

"I'm not giving up," I insisted, though my voice wavered. "I love her so much that I don't want her to suffer anymore because of me. So, I want her to move on."

"That maturity doesn't sound like you," Charlotte observed, narrowing her eyes as if she could see right through me.

"I know," I admitted, swallowing the lump in my throat. "It's what I've been telling myself since I broke up with her—that she should move on."

"You don't believe that," Becky said, crossing her arms, her gaze unwavering.

"Not even a single word," I confessed, my resolve crumbling under their scrutiny.

"So, what are you going to do when you come back?" Charlotte asked, her voice challenging me to face the truth.

"If she hasn't moved on, I'm going to tell her everything and win her back," I said, the words coming out more determined than I felt.

"And if she has moved on?" Becky pressed.

"Then...I'll be content being her friend," I lied, the words tasting bitter in my mouth.

But deep down, I knew the truth. Even if she moved on, I wasn't going to let her go. I was going to fight for her, no matter what.
