Wedding day

Orm's POV

The morning sunlight filtered through the soft, sheer curtains of the hotel room as I stared at my reflection in the mirror. Today was the day—our day. The weight of it hit me all at once, like a tidal wave of emotions. My heart fluttered in my chest, and my palms felt damp with a mixture of nerves and excitement.

I had always imagined what this moment would feel like. Ling and I had been together for so long, gone through so much, and now here we were, about to make the biggest commitment of our lives. Part of me couldn't believe it was finally happening.

"Orm, you look amazing," Becky said from behind me, her voice full of awe.

I glanced at her reflection in the mirror, a small smile forming on my lips. "Do I?"

She nodded vigorously, her eyes shining. "More than amazing. Ling's going to lose her mind when she sees you."

I chuckled nervously, smoothing down the lace bodice of my wedding dress. It was simple yet elegant, exactly what I had envisioned. The intricate lace patterns trailed down the long sleeves, and the soft, flowing skirt brushed the floor in gentle waves of fabric. My hair was swept into a loose, romantic updo, a few soft curls framing my face. I felt beautiful, but more importantly, I felt like myself.

Becky, ever the thoughtful bridesmaid, came over and gave my hand a reassuring squeeze. "You're ready, Orm. This is it."

I nodded, taking a deep breath. "Yeah, this is it."

As the time approached, my bridesmaids helped me with the final touches—adjusting the veil, making sure my makeup was flawless, and ensuring my dress fell perfectly around me. My stomach was a flurry of nerves, but beneath it all was a sense of calm, of certainty. I knew what I was doing. I knew who I was about to marry.

"Ready to head down?" Becky asked, her eyes twinkling with excitement.

I nodded once more, my hands trembling slightly as I clutched my bouquet. "Let's do this."

....

Ling's POV

Standing at the altar, I shifted my weight from one foot to the other, trying to calm the pounding of my heart. I was never one to get nervous easily, but this was different. This was the most important day of my life, and in just a few minutes, I'd be seeing Orm walking down the aisle, ready to say "I do."

I couldn't stop fidgeting with the cuffs of my suit, glancing around at the beautifully decorated garden. The soft colors of the flowers, the rows of chairs filled with our friends and family, the delicate archway covered in roses—it was perfect. It was exactly what we'd wanted. Everything about this moment was perfect.

My best friend, Milk, was standing beside me, giving me a look of pure amusement. "Relax, Ling," she whispered, elbowing me lightly. "You're going to be fine."

I shot her a nervous grin. "I know. I just—what if she changes her mind?"

Milk scoffed, rolling her eyes. "Orm? Change her mind? Are you kidding me? She's probably just as nervous as you are right now."

Before I could respond, the soft music started playing, signaling the beginning of the ceremony. My heart leaped into my throat, and I straightened my posture, my eyes glued to the path ahead.

Then, I saw her.

Orm appeared at the end of the aisle, her arm linked with her father's as they began to walk toward me. My breath caught in my throat. She looked stunning—absolutely breathtaking. Her dress flowed gracefully around her as she walked, and the soft glow of the sun made her look ethereal, like she was glowing from within. Her eyes met mine, and the world seemed to stop for a moment.

I could see the nerves in her eyes, the same nerves that were racing through my own body, but there was something else there too—love. So much love that it took my breath away.

By the time she reached the altar, I could barely contain the wide grin spreading across my face. She was here. She was really here.

Orm's POV

Standing in front of Ling, I felt like my heart might burst from my chest. She looked incredibly handsome in her suit, the dark color contrasting perfectly with her skin. Her eyes sparkled with emotions—nervousness, excitement, and above all, love.

This was it. The moment I'd been dreaming of.

The officiant smiled warmly at us, beginning the ceremony. "Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to witness the union of Ling and Orm in marriage, a celebration of their love and commitment to one another."

I barely heard the words, too focused on the woman standing in front of me. Ling's fingers brushed against mine, and the warmth of her touch grounded me, reminding me that we were in this together.

When it came time for the vows, my heart raced even faster. Ling looked into my eyes, her voice soft but steady as she began to speak.

"Orm, from the moment I met you, I knew you were going to change my life," she said, her voice thick with emotion. "You challenge me, you make me laugh, and you love me in ways I never knew were possible. Today, I promise to be by your side, no matter what. I promise to love you, to support you, and to grow with you. You're my partner, my best friend, and my soulmate. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you."

Tears stung the corners of my eyes as I listened to her words. They were perfect—just like her.

When it was my turn, I took a deep breath, my fingers tightening around hers. "Ling, you are everything I never knew I needed. You've shown me what it means to truly love and be loved, and I can't imagine my life without you in it. I promise to be your rock, your safe place, and your biggest supporter. I promise to laugh with you, cry with you, and face whatever comes our way—together. Today, I vow to love you with all of my heart, for all of my life."

By the time I finished, there wasn't a dry eye in the garden. I could feel the weight of the moment—how significant it was, how deeply it mattered.

"By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you married," the officiant declared with a smile. "You may kiss your bride."

Ling didn't hesitate. She cupped my face with both hands, her touch gentle but firm, and kissed me with so much love that I thought I might float away. The cheers from our guests were a distant hum compared to the sound of my heart beating in time with hers.

When we pulled away, her forehead rested against mine, and she whispered, "We did it."

I smiled, my eyes closing as I savored the moment. "Yeah, we did."

....

The rest of the day was a whirlwind of laughter, dancing, and love. Our reception was held under a canopy of twinkling lights in the same garden where we were married. The air was filled with the sound of music and the scent of flowers, and everywhere I looked, I saw smiling faces.

Ling and I barely left each other's side, our hands always linked as we made our way through the party. Our first dance as a married couple was to our favorite song, the soft melody wrapping around us as we moved together, completely in sync.

The night went on, filled with heartfelt toasts, delicious food, and moments that would stay with us forever. At one point, Milk stood up to give a speech, her usual snarky humor making everyone laugh.

"I've known Ling for years, and let me tell you, this woman was a tough nut to crack," she joked. "But then Orm came along, and suddenly, everything made sense. You two are perfect for each other, and I couldn't be happier to witness this day."

As the night wore on and the stars began to twinkle above us, Ling and I found a quiet moment alone by the lake. We stood together, our arms wrapped around each other as we gazed at the reflection of the lights on the water.

"I can't believe we're married," Ling murmured, her breath warm against my ear.

I smiled, leaning into her. "Me neither."

We stayed there for a while, just the two of us, soaking in the magic of the moment. It was perfect—everything we had dreamed of and more.

And as I stood there, in the arms of the woman I loved, I knew without a doubt that this was only the beginning of our forever.
