"Friends lang ba talaga kayo ni Julien?" bulong sa'kin ni Mae, she was my pair for today's lab. Hindi kami totally close, since she had a different circle but she was nice. Hindi niya na lang siguro matiis, hence her question.
Nasa harapan pa rin namin ang professor, kaya tumango lang ako bilang sagot.
Mae was not satisfied, "Araw-araw kang hatid sundo, tapos friends lang?"
Yes, saksi ang blockmates ko sa sabay na pagpasok at pag-uwi namin ni Julien ever since.
"Makapit-bahay kami, and he's just really kind." Bulong ko pabalik. I had told them this already, when they cornered me one time to ask kung ano bang meron sa'min ni Julien. Kung friendly lang si Ace, they would surely pester him too about his friend.
"MU? Flirting?"
"Friends." Ano bang hindi nila maintindihan do'n? Can't a man and a woman be friends? Although, of course, lately... I kind of wanted something more than that... but Mae didn't need to know that.
"Friends to Lovers is a thing." She patted me on my shoulders, at saka nginuso ang labas.
Julien was outside our classroom, waiting... for me? Clad in his usual shirt, loose pants and sneakers, he was dashing. Simpleng kombinasyon lang 'yon, pero dahil siya ang may suot, ang lakas pa rin nang dating. Lahat silang Hotties ganyan. They didn't need effort to look good!
Ako naman, well... I put some effort today. Kung effort bang matatawag ang pagsusuot ng skirt. Hana's skirt actually, that she insisted I wore because I told her I wanted to look cute. Paired up with my green Keroppi shirt and white shoes, it was cute, I guess? My friends thought so, at least. I even let my hair down today, na palagi lang naka-ponytail, then pushed back my stubborn curtain bangs with my favorite Keroppi clip.
"You like Keroppi?" bungad ni Julien, paglabas ko sa pinto ng condo kanina. Halos dalawang buwan na kaming magkasabay pumasok at umuwi, pero tuwing nakikita ko siya na hinihintay ako, kinakapos pa rin ako ng hininga. When I nodded, he smiled, eyes crinkling and told me, "Cute."
Sino sa amin Julien?! Ako o si Keroppi?! I didn't get to ask him this, of course. Dahil nahihiya ako.
My thoughts were interrupted nang sa wakas ay nag-dismiss ang professor. Agad naman akong pinalibutan ng mga kaibigan ko.
"We need every single detail later." Marina gripped my wrists tight, bago bumitaw.
Eunice locked her arms around my neck and whispered, "I demand updates, Princess Addy!"
Nginisihan naman ako ni Blaire as she pulled Eunice away from me.
They fled as soon as we were outside. Eunice even faking a cough, hindi raw siya makakasabay mag-lunch dahil may sakit siya, so Blaire and Marina had to 'tend' to her. Binilin na lang nila nila ako kay Julien.
They're so freaking obvious!
They could have at least acted better?! Bakit ganito ang mga kabigan ko? I stared at them in disbelief, habang papalayo sila sa'min ni Julien.
Ako ba talaga ang hinihintay niya? Pero ang aga pa. Lunch break pa lang, hindi pa uwian! What if he was waiting for Ace instead? Pero kausap pa rin ni Ace ang professor...
"Did I ruin your schedule?" His palm was on his nape, looking really apologetic.
"Nope! Not at all!" Mabilis kong sagot.
