They walked, the sun raging down on them. They were all thankful to see the bounty just meters away from them, but as they approached, they heard voices.
"Get down!" Arin warned.
They all hid behind a sand dune, peeking as the two strangers walked around the side of the bounty. Two imperium guards! Skylor sure was sick of seeing those guys.
"It wasn't here before! What do we do?" One asked the other.
"Maybe we should tell the empress." One of them suggested. They hopped into their ship and flew off, back towards imperium.
"Let's... get out of here." Lloyd said, jumping up and getting onto the bounty. "Preferably as soon as possible!"
And soon they were off, heading back home. Now, with Riyu rescued.
"Nice first mission, Sky." Lloyd nodded to her. "Maybe you'll stick around for more?"
"I-... I wasn't plain leaving." Skylor replied. "Did you think I was going to leave?"
"Ehhh... a little. I don't know." Lloyd mumbled.
"Can I ask what happened to your face? Why all the bandages?"
Skylor reached up to her eye. She really hadn't explained yet.
"I was... fighting some guy and he nicked me right in the face. I'm just letting it heal up, but for now, I've got these bandages on my face." She said.
Yeah, it was a lie. But what harm was it to lie about something no one else knows about? Exactly! Lloyd took it as truth anyway.
"Huh." He said. "Does it still hurt?"
"Not on its own, but it hurts being hit there more than before, I guess." Skylor shrugged. That was truth. He nodded again.
"I'm glad you're back." Lloyd said. "I don't think I've said that yet. Or maybe I have. Regardless-"
"I'm glad you're back. We don't know where most of them are. It's made things a little better seeing you." He continued. "For some people more than others."
Skylor knew what he meant. And she wholeheartedly agreed. After all, she thought these guys were dead.
"Well I'm not going anywhere." She chuckled. "At least I don't think so."
"Yeah, I'd hope not." He smiled.

Kai leaned against the guardrail of the bounty. Wyldfire jogged up to him.
"So Kai." Wyldfire stood beside him.
"So Wyldfire." He said.
"Do you... uhhhh." Wyldfire hesitated.
"Yeah? What's up?"
"Arin says that Skylor doesn't have any powers."
"I'm sorry?" Kai asked
"Well, he said that her powers only work if she touches someone with power, right?" Wyldfire explained.
"That's right. Why are you... telling... me this?" Kai raised an eyebrow at her.
"So what I'm asking is..." Wyldfire took a deep breath. "And you have to be totally and COMPLETELY honest with me!"
"Jeez, what is it?" Kai turned to her.
Wyldfire sighed.
"Is she a dragon or not?"
...
Kai had to turn away. All that hype for a dumb question, he really didn't want to laugh at Wyldfire.
"No shes- why would you think-... I-... no! She's not a dragon." He snickered. "She's not."
"Oh." Wyldfire frowned. "But she can make fire!"
"So can I, still doesn't make us dragons." Kai shook his head. A flame dancing in his hand.
"Okay..." Wyldfire thought aloud. "Well what if..."
"Well I declare that you guys are honorary dragons." Wyldfire insisted. "That way, heatwave won't get confused, because I already planned to tell him you guys were dragons, so..."
"Oh? You declare, huh? I'm honoured." Kai smirked.
"You better be." Wyldfire nodded. "I'm going to go tell Skylor."
"Awesome, she'll be thrilled." Kai gave her a thumbs up.
He looked back to the air around him.
Wyldfire was so weird, but a good kind of weird, he wouldn't have it any other way.
