On Jessie's side

I widened my range as far as it would go, but there was no one around at all. Looks like Dad and the other leaders had taken care of them all.

Our gods had given me my miraculous powers. The jungle respected and trusted me.

So now, it was time to fight for it. Fight for us. Fight for our world.

On Leon's side

"We're here," I gasped for breath as we emerged into the sun baked roads of the city, with nobody milling about, but lots of factories still shooting out greyish smoke. No one else was around, and I realised that Jessie and the rest of the soldiers weren't here yet.

Nita came out of the jungle seconds later and whispered, "Are you sure this is a good idea, Leon? Who knows what could happen to us if they discover us here."

"We have to be with Jessie," I huffed out. "We have to help her, and protect her."

Because I couldn't bare to see her suffer.

She was my fate, my destiny. And I think I was ready to show her that I was hers too.

On Alan's side

The large line of soldiers continued to march through the undergrowth behind me, their weapons clanking and their armour clashing.

They were ready to defend our jungle. And so was I. I may not have any weapons or armour, but I had my powers to fight. And one should never give up in the pursuit for justice, nor give up in the pursuit for love.

That was the last thing Lydia eve said to me.

And I was never going to forget that, not now, not ever.

On James' side

After sending everyone I could find back to our emergency evacuation point, I had darted towards the city to find Jessie and fight alongside her.

I finally emerged from the thick foliage of the jungle, into the bright pavements of the city where all our troubles had come from.

When I looked around, I immediately saw our soldiers, with their sharpened weapons and metallic armour that we snuck away from the city with our disguises. And...

"Alan? Leon? Nita?" I stepped forward to talk to them. "What are you doing here?"

"We're here to fight for our jungle," Alan clenched his fist.

"And help Jessie," Leon added.

"Because we are all connected by our home and our roots," Nita finished. "And we're never going to forget that."

I grinned. Neither was I.

So I turned to face the horizon, where the troops of the city had already lined up to face us.

We were outnumbered.

But we had something that they probably would never possess.

We had trust. And we had our love and passion.

All as one, we were...

Connected.
