First of all, sorry for the long wait. Im studying so the updates might take a while. Pls be patient.
Idk how i came up with this chapter. It might be boring for y'all!
In an exclusive, busy banquet hall, Radhika stands there, observing the arrangements.
Radhika Jaiswal, a famous Event Manager who is very dedicated to her work. She is known for her well organized events and everything happening according to her schedule.
While surveying the hall, her razor sharp eyes catch something unusual. The centerpieces were all the way in the corner and not in the middle.
"Samar!" Radhika calls out to one of the staff. "These centerpieces are 7 inches more to the right. Take care of it please. And where are the bouquets for the guests?"
"I'll prepare them, ma'am!" The said man hurries to prepare the bouquets while informing some of the men to align the centerpieces in the middle. On his way he keeps questioning his life choices of how he ended up working for a hitler boss. How does one even know that the thing is 7 inches away?
She begins looking over the chair arrangements when she spots a certain staff member leaning against the pillar. She narrows her eyes as the man presses his hand to his ear, talking to someone.
"Unbelievable! Who is slacking off in the middle of the work." She mutters under her breath as she rushes over to him. As she approaches the man, she can hear some words from him.
"...negative, we don't wanna rush into this. Wait for the target."
Radhika blinks, trying to understand what he is talking about. Suddenly her watch beeps, reminding her of the arrival of the guests in thirty minutes. No time for chit chat.
"Ahem!" She coughs, crossing her arms.
Kabir's head snaps up, dropping his hand from the earpiece that he is wearing. His face smoothly changes from a serious one to confused. "Is there a problem, Ma'am?" He asks, innocently.
For this mission, Kabir is undercover, working for the Event Manager as one of the staff members.
When Aakrith was sick, Kabir had been away for this mission—To get hired by the Event Manager and infiltrate the staff so that they keep an eye on the target. Ever since the attack, the agency was in a shortage of agents as some of them were permanently injured. Hence Kabir took the initiative this time.Radhika raises her eyebrows at the question. That question from him seems like more of a demand. "I don't pay my staff to stand around, talking to their friends all day."
"I wasn't—"
"Don't even dare to deny, Veer. Me ne abhi dekha tumhe call pe baat kartey."
Veer Khurana. That's what the nameplate on Kabir's shirt says. Radhika recalls the hiring manager informing her about a newly hired staff member who recently joined a few weeks ago.
"Let me tell you something since you are new." Radhika says. "I don't allow my staff to take personal calls at work. And I really don't tolerate anyone slacking off on their duties."
Oh, how the tables have turned. Kabir Kaushik, The Commander of RIA is being told off for not focusing on his work. Kabir wonders how she got here so fast, a minute ago she was in the main hall, looking over the centerpieces.
He can't even argue with the boss because he was indeed talking to Utkarsh. And he swears he can hear Aakrith snickering on the comms. That little brat!
"This might be acceptable in your previous job but not here. This is a big event for me and I'd be damned if there is a single petal out of the place."
