Mitansh stays silent as Kabir stares out of the window, his eyes bearing the pain of deceiving and betrayal.
"I had loved her with my life. Usse jo bhi chaiye tha, sab kuch diya. I gave her endless love and in return, all I got was her betrayal." Kabir finally whispers and Mitansh finds his own eyes filled with tears.
Kabir looks at Mitansh with bloodshot red eyes. "Sab sahi kehte hai. Pyar sach me andha hotay. I couldn't see past her fake facade."
His brother has been betrayed by the love of his life.
Kabir's pain is tugging Mitansh's heartstrings. It is heartbreaking to see his big brother falling apart. This is the person whom he looks up to. The same person whom Aakrith and Vatsal look up to. For them, Kabir is the hero, who has always been a pillar of their strength.
And Kabir didn't want his younger brothers to watch him like this—broken and vulnerable. They wouldn't be able to handle it. That's why when Kabir sent them to their room, Mitansh didn't stop them.
"Bhaiya. Naina was a cunning and manipulative bitch. You couldn't have known what game she was playing. Please don't blame yourself."
Naina Chauhan was Kabir's first love.
The two of them joined the agency during the same year. He met her during one of their first training sessions as a trainee agent. Kabir still remembers the first time he saw her, the first time he talked to her, the first time he went on a date with her.
She was a pretty girl with beautiful black hair. And it's not just the appearance that Kabir fell in love with. Kabir fell in love with every small thing she used to do. The way she would smile at him, the way she would make him happy. When she held him the first time he was feeling down. She had given him hope.
Only to shatter Kabir's heart in the end.
Naina was a spy, working for a terrorist group. She was a part of their group. She infiltrated the agency so that she could spy on them and report their planned missions to the terrorists.
"How can I not blame myself, Mitansh? I dated a freaking terrorist. Usne humari agency ke kitne secrets share kiye hai, patay? That was all because of me!"
Mitansh swallows the lump formed in his throat. He kneels down in front of Kabir and holds his hand. "And because of you, she was caught. Mat bhuliye bhaiya, aapki wajah se hi uska sach bahar aaya tha."
Flashback:
When Kabir had caught Naina red handed, he was pointing his gun at her. She was standing in front of him, her hands in the air. She knew it was over for her. Kabir had brought agents along with him to catch her. And her gun was confiscated by Kabir.
Kabir signals his agents to arrest her.
"So, this is what it was? A game for you. Everything was a lie." Kabir asked her. He forced himself not to let the tears fall, not in front of a traitor. He didn't want her betrayal to affect him on the mission. Even though she is unarmed, Kabir didn't trust her.
"Everything was. Except us, Kabir." She said, her face showing no regrets.
Kabir clenched his jaw and lowered his gun. "Just take her out of my sight." He ordered the agents, looking away. Naina had loved him in her own twisted way.
Present:
"I thought I had moved on but..." Kabir's breath hitched as the tears fell from his eyes. Mitansh knows that Kabir might have moved on but he is still broken from within.
