Another boring chapter on its way. I apologize in advance!Do comment if you like the chapter
Naveen smirks on hearing Raghav's pleading. The man knows Raghav's weakness is Kabir and this is the only way to get his hands on Raghav's youngest son. "Well then you better hurry. Make sure those men are out and I get the boy. Or else you know what will happen!"
On the other hand, Kabir's eyes widened in shock. For a moment he is too surprised to react.
"Yes! Yes! I know...please...you will get Aakrith but don't do anything to Kabir." Raghav says with a pleading voice.
Kabir blinks once. Twice. Thrice!
Did he hear that correctly? His father, whom he had always respected, is out here making a deal regarding Aakrith. But what could be the reason?
He slowly lowers his gun down and leans against the wall. His heart stops beating for a second. He can't believe what he just heard. His father is ready to risk Aakrith to save him?
Oh how wrong he was to think that his father was in danger!
Raghav is not sacrificing himself to save Aakrtih. But on the contrary, Raghav is sacrificing Aakrith to save Kabir.
Kabir stares at the two men, his eyes darting between Raghav and Naveen. Why that man wanted Aakrith? And how long has this been going on?
His jaw clenched in anger while he glared at his father. The threat he has been looking for, is hiding right under his eyes. His father!
Running his hands over his face, Kabir takes a deep breath. He admits he had predicted the situation completely wrong before. But the threat is from someone he had never expected. And one thing is clear. Aakrith is still in danger!
Kabir gets back to his car and drives home. He is completely lost as he doesn't have a full picture yet. That is why he didn't confront his father right there. It would have alerted them and made it harder for Kabir to gather more evidence against them.
After reaching the house, Kabir goes straight to Aakrith's room. Aakrith is sleeping peacefully, curled up under his blanket.
Silently, Kabir walks across the room and sits on the bed. He gently runs his fingers through Aakrith's hair, his mind reminiscing about old times.
Aakrith has always been a heavy sleeper. There would be a big hurricane outside and the boy wouldn't even stir.
Unlike you all, my brain is constantly working. You have no idea how tiring it is to keep an eye on all of you. So I get exhausted easily compared to you guys.
This is what an eight year old Aakrith used to say. Kabir smiles softly remembering this. As if taking care of a genius kid wasn't exhausting at all!
He would have to keep a constant eye on the boy as Aakrith had a very curious mind. His brother had a habit of experimenting things out of nowhere and would end up burning down the house.
Kabir blinks back his tears on remembering the days before Aakrith was kidnapped. His brother's life is in danger, again. But this time, he is prepared.
"I promise you, Aakrith. I won't let anything happen to you. Not again!" Kabir murmurs softly.

In the morning, Kabir is making breakfast for everyone. He is in the kitchen making paratha but his mind is still lost in yesterday's conversation.
What deal was Raghav making with Naveen and why Naveen wants Aakrith. He just can't believe his father is doing all of this without even telling him anything. Only one person can answer all of his questions and that is his father.
