"You didn't need to protect me Lando, Taylor isn't a threat" I said as we walked on the beach together."He is though" Lando said. "You don't know his past"
I do Lando, I surely do.
"I just-" he sighed a little. "I don't want anything to happen to you"
I didn't reply, didn't know what. He didn't need to protect me, but on the other hand, it was actually nice to have someone protecting me for once.
It was nice to walk with someone on the beach, not thinking about killing him, not planning anything for once.
I still enjoyed killing assholes, but this was equally as nice.
And I wish I could just tell him about that part of my life. But how do you tell someone that you kill people?
That you're the serial killer everyone is looking for?
You don't. You just can't.
"So does your brother live in Monaco as well?" Lando asked. Probably trying to keep the conversation going because I was overthinking everything.
"Yes he does. Easton works for the police department" I nodded.
"Oh cool" he smiled. "And you? What do you do for a living?"
"I work in a jewelry store" I said. It wasn't a lie, I really did work there.
Rich bastards would come in to buy jewelry for their wives, to compensate for the lack of love.
So it was an easy way on getting their name, phone numbers, bank details.Everything I needed to track them down.
So I worked there during the day and killed bastards during the night.
"Oh interesting, guess I will visit the store you work at soon then"
"To buy something for your girlfriend?" I teasingly asked.
"If you mean you, then yes" he smiled and looked in my eyes. He took a step closer, letting his hand brush against my arm.
He always touched my arm with my tattoos, as if he knew I always covered them up.
Or I was overthinking this, again.
"I will race you to the sea" he said, a smirk on his face. "What?" I asked.
"Last one in the sea, has to sleep on the couch" he said as he started running.
And so did I, because I wasn't gonna sleep on the couch. Hell no.
I knew I was fast, but so was he. He was an athlete after all, but he was slowing down, he was letting me win.
And I was gonna take the win.
I ran into the water, looking behind me with a big smile on my face. I obviously knew he let me win, but I was gonna pretend as if I didn't know.
"I guess I have to sleep on the couch then" Lando laughed, grabbed my hand and pulled me with him in the sea.
"Oh my God, you're such an idiot" I said as I ran closer to the beach again.
Lando followed me. We were both soaked, still standing in the sea. He looked at me with a smile, and as his eyes went lower, his smile disappeared.
I followed where he was looking at, which was my arm.
My tattoos weren't covered anymore.
The snake, the skull, it was all visible.
Fuck.
He looked at them. "Why did you cover them up?" He asked.
"I don't know" I shrugged. "It's kinda much, you know?"
"It's a part of you, so you shouldn't have to cover them up" he said. "Not when you're with me at least"
I had a weird feeling in my stomach. It's this what they called butterflies?
"Can I kiss you?" He asked softly, looking at my lips and back up in my eyes.
"Now?" I asked. I don't know why, why the fuck did I ask him that.
"Well, preferably now, but honestly any time your schedule allows it" he chuckled a little.
"Now will be fine" I quickly said.
He put his hand on my cheek, pressed his lips against mine and kissed me so softly, as if he was scared I would break.
I could taste the salt on his lips, I could feel him smile.
He pecked my lips once before pulling me closer and kissing me even more deeply.
The feeling in my stomach got even more intense. This is definitely what they called butterflies.
But unfortunately, butterflies and spiders just didn't match, at all.
