Regulus sat nervously at his desk looking at the outfits in front of him a black shirt with loose jeans or a white skin tight dress with a matching white crocheted crop top, the clock ticks closer to the time when he needs to be ready..

Regulus came out as trans 4 years ago everyone knew apart from his family and he thought he wanted it to stay that way but as he gets older he realised that it's more important to him then he thought, wanting his parents to see him as he really is.. a boy.

Sirius left years ago but he agreed to come back if he can take his friend so not only is this the only day in the year regulus gets to see his brother and actually have to socialise and be civil with his brother this is the year he finally decided to come out to his family.

The black family ball is a annual celebration Orion and Walburga throw it's to celebrate and show off there wealth, Sirius would have never agreed to come unless he could have the chance to see Estella even if she hated him, he been coming back for years, his parents want to show that their still a "happy functioning family" the fact that Sirius ran away and got adopted by the potters is not for the publics ear.

The party have a dress code, black suits for the boys and white dresses for the girls, see this is where regulus is having the crisis he been wearing the same type of dress for years now and he hates it.. the looks he gets when his body is on display the way the fabric presses against him when he forced to dance with men who are 50 years older then him. He hates it but for the past few years barty have been coming with him after regulus had a break down in front of him after an especially hard night when he had to dance with his cousin in-law Lucius, barty reluctantly said that he come as regulus date to protect him.

Regulus raps his chest in the trans tape Evan got him for his birthday, wrapping it the tightest he can he shakily puts on the suit looking at himself in the mirror smiling wildly as the door opens and Barty walks in "Reg! I got the whisky this is going to be the funniest ball yet- woah" regulus turn to look at him "do I look alright.. I cut and dyed my hair myself.. I don't know if-" Barty walks up to him looking him up and down "I think I got a boner.. fuck reg you look- fucking fantastic" regulus smile widely "I feel amazing.. I've been staying in my room for the past couple days to try and hide my hair" Barty smiles messing with it "yeah I like the blonde it's a nice touch" regulus can't stop smiling fixing his hair "see I think this is a great idea coming out when you're parents can't get mad and anyway your leaving for uni tomorrow so they can't do anything" Barty says lighting a cigarette leaning on the wall "my parents are going to kill you if they catch you smoking" regulus laugh putting black eyeliner on my waterline "they literally smoke" regulus laugh looking at him using the mirror "yeah no shit the same fucking brand".

They finish getting ready barty grabs regulus hand "I promise your be okay" Regulus nods slowly walking out the room they make their way to the ball room Barty rubs circles around regulus hand waiting to enter "miss black and Mr crouch-Junior" regulus takes a deep breath walking Into the room barty following gasps echo though the room as they walk in and stand next to Orion and Walburga "Estella what in the name of Salazar are you wearing" Orion says not looking away form the people smiling "it's regulus now.." Walburga laughs "Estella-" barty interruptes "he told you it's regulus now." Walburga grabs hold of Orion arm needing to steady herself "we will talk when everyone is mingling." Orion says calmly..
