I just landed in Udaipur, and it was such a tiring journey. My dadu called to say his best friend's grandson would be picking me up.

Whoever is coming, just hurry up already-I just want to collapse on a bed and sleep the whole day!

It's scorching hot here.

I walked out of the airport, only to see a handsome guy walking toward me. But why is he walking toward me? I turned slightly to avoid the awkwardness, but then I heard a deep, husky voice.

"Excuse me," he said, making me turn to face him fully.

His eyes...

I'm done.

He-ugh-his eyes are so incredibly beautiful.

But why is he staring at me like that?

"Hey, Mr.?" I asked, trying to snap him out of his trance.

"Ah-yeah," he said nervously, flashing a smile, which made me raise an eyebrow.

"Oh yeah, I'm Arthur Raizada, grandson of Ratnawar Raizada!" he introduced himself. My eyes widened in shock.

Holy moly, I'm going to stay with him?

I had to remind myself to stay calm-maintain composure, Shrayn.

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Raizada," I said, offering a small smile.

"Same here, Miss Gill," he replied, his voice even deeper.

Just then, my phone rang, pulling both of our attention to it. I glanced at the caller ID-Eknoor.

"Hello," I answered, talking for about five minutes before hanging up.

"Chale?" he asked in a cold yet slightly softer voice, snapping me out of my thoughts. I nodded, and we walked out of the airport together.

---

Now, we're in the car, and wow, Udaipur is a royal place, no doubt. The havelis and everything are so beautiful. I'm already in love with this city-it's stunning.

I was admiring the scenery when I noticed the car turning down a long, picturesque route, and then I saw a massive haveli. It's so beautiful, so pristine. Wait, am I staying here?

Wow.

The car stopped with a screech, pulling me out of my thoughts. Suddenly, the door on my side opened, and I looked up to see him.

I muttered a small "thank you" and stepped out of the car.

He started walking toward the haveli without a word, and I just followed behind like some silent shadow. At least say "follow me," but no, I had to walk like this.

What is this? A highway? It took us five minutes just to get past a fountain.

After another couple of minutes, we finally reached the entrance of the haveli.

Hushhh, Waheguru.

"Badi Rani Sa, Hukum aagye hai," a man shouted loudly, making me flinch and step back. Suddenly, I felt a hand on my lower back.

"Aram se, Sardarni," I heard him say, looking up to see him glaring at the man who stood there, expressionless.

Careful, Sardarni.

The height difference between us... wow, Waheguru.

"Come," he said, guiding me inside the haveli, his hand still resting on my lower back.

I don't know why, but I felt a flutter in my stomach. What is happening to me?

Then, a woman approached us with a soft but powerful aura. She smiled at me, and I nervously returned the gesture.

"Umm, Satsriakal aunty ji," I said, joining my hands to greet her.

"Khamma ghani, bete," the lady said with a small smile, and I was utterly confused. Was that a greeting in Rajasthani? What was she saying? I don't know anything about the Rajasthani language-did she just greet me in their style or say something else? Why didn't she just say Satsriakal? Ugh, where have I landed?

"She said 'greetings' in Rajasthani," a voice whispered in my ear, sending a shiver down my spine. I could feel his breath near my ear. I turned my head to face him, only to see him leaning in slightly, his face only inches away from mine. Before I could react, the lady cleared her throat, making me snap my head back.

"You look tired. I'll send a worker to show you to your room. You should rest, hmn? And if you need anything, just call me or any of the workers," the lady said with a gentle smile.

I nodded, grateful for her kindness.

Later, after freshening up, I was scrolling through Instagram. The car racing event starts the day after tomorrow, and while I'm excited, there's a bit of nervousness lingering inside me. It's not my first event-I've participated in four before, and this will be my fifth one in India. If I win, I'll be racing internationally. That's a dream come true.

Racing has always been my passion, and I've turned it into my career. It's a great life, and my income is pretty high.

So why do my parents and dadu want to marry me off? It feels like a cheat-I mean, no one loves me! Dramatic sigh.

But, whatever, I'm Shrayn Kaur Gill. Let's see who the lucky guy is who'll get me as his vohti (wife).
