"Mihirrrrrrr my bestieeeeee!" Shrayn hugged Mihir tightly, making him roll his eyes.

"Shut up and tell me why you called me to the airport this late at night? Do you even see what time it is?" Mihir asked, his tone stern and husky.

"I'm running away," she declared, showing him her passport and bag.

"Huh? What? Are you participating in a marathon?" Mihir asked, confused, earning a smack on the head.

"I. AM. GOING. TO. CANADA!" she said, raising her voice.

"What the fuck ? Why? Your wedding is the day after tomorrow! Are you even in your senses right now? What about your family? If you don't want to marry, just tell them!" Mihir shouted, making her blink away her tears.

"You think I didn't tell them? They won't listen to me! All they care about is their love for relations. They're forcing me, Mihir. I'm running because I don't want to marry anyone!"

"Why? Are you a lesbian?" Mihir blurted, widening his eyes in shock.

"Are you mad? Swear to God, Mihir, I'm going to kill you one day," Shrayn said, glaring at him.

"Then why don't you want to marry?" he asked, his voice softening.

"Because I can't handle myself! How am I supposed to handle a royal family? I'd be a queen with so many responsibilities. It's not like I'm not capable, but what about my career, my passion for cars? Being royal isn't easy! There's the media, parties, balls-what about my private life?"

Mihir sighed, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder.

"Shrayn, running isn't the solution. Talk to your fiancé, face your family."

"It's not the time, Mihir. I'll return when they realize what they're trying to do by forcing me," she said firmly and turned to leave.

"Shrayn," Mihir called, stopping her in her tracks.

"Huh?"

"Good luck," he said with a smile, making her smile back.

Next Day

"HOW THE FUCK DID SHE DARE TO RUN AWAY?" Arthur roared, his voice echoing through the room.

"Language, Arthur! She didn't even tell her family. They found out this morning. Gurdas checked the CCTV and saw her leaving in a car with a small bag. He asked Mihir, the last person she called, but even he claims he doesn't know where she went," Ratnawar said calmly.

"UGH! What's wrong with this girl? Is she mad?" Arthur ruffled his hair in frustration.

"I'm going," Arthur declared, making Ratnawar raise his eyebrows.

"Going where?"

"Apni manzil ke paas," Arthur said, grabbing his car keys and storming out.

In Canada

Shrayn woke up, stretching lazily before grabbing her phone. Seeing countless missed calls from home, her heart sank.

"Thank God for Mihir. If he hadn't kept my location secret, the next flight to Canada would've brought all of Punjab here," she thought.

"Shrayn, you up?" her friend called from the other room.

"Yeah!" Shrayn replied, walking into the living room.

"What happened? Why are you here?" her friend asked, lighting a cigarette.
