Arthur Raizada's POV
It's my last day of living my life freely.
Why? Because tomorrow is my engagement with that woman-Miss Shrayn Drama Kaur Gill.
I don't have any expectations anymore. Jo hoga, dekha jayega. Bhagwan ke bharose hu iss waqt.
I sighed, stepping into the silent kitchen. The whole haveli was asleep, but my mind? It felt restless.
Just as I was about to pour myself a glass of water, a soft motherly voice reached my ears.
"Arthur."
I turned to see my mother standing there in a saree, her gentle smile making my heart soften.
"Mom," I muttered, walking up to her. She chuckled as I hugged her.
"What are you doing in the kitchen this late at night?" she asked, raising a knowing eyebrow.
I rolled my eyes. "I... forgot my way to my chamber."
She chuckled again. "Haan? Really? Now tell me the real reason."
I sighed, sitting down on one of the kitchen chairs as she took the seat beside me.
She looked at me with that typical mom expression. "Kya hua mere bacche ko?"
I ran a hand through my hair. "I just don't know what's happening to me. This engagement... it feels right, but at the same time, it doesn't."
Mom smiled knowingly. "Haan, but everything happens for a reason. Jo hota hai ache ke liye hota hai. So why are you so tense, beta?"
I exhaled deeply. "Because she behaves like a child in front of me. How the hell am I supposed to handle her after our marriage?"
Mom let out a soft laugh. "Because mohabbat ho gayi hai usse aapse."
I froze.
"W-what?"
Mom smiled warmly. "And when a woman falls in love, she behaves like a child."
