Author's POV

As the day arrived, it was time for everyone to return to Punjab for the pre-wedding rituals and ceremonies.

"Can't you guys do the rituals here only?" Arshi asked, hope evident in her voice.

"Sorry, beta, but in us Sikhs, there are some rituals that can only be performed at home. We can't help it. But don't worry, we'll meet soon—it's just a matter of one week." Shrayn's mother, Guruka, said with a soft smile.

"Hnn, well, Shrayn aka hone waali bhabhi ji, do a video call on Haldi and Mehndi. I wanna see your dress!" Arshi requested with puppy eyes, making Shrayn giggle.

"Of course, Arshi darling," she said with a wink.

As her gaze turned to Naveer, who was smiling at them, she smirked.

"Ohoo, Veer ji! Milenge jaldi, theek?" (Oho Veer Ji! We'll meet soon, okay?) she said, side-hugging him, making him nod. After that, she touched the elders' feet, seeking their blessings.

"Arthur will accompany you to the airport," Ratnawar announced.

Everyone nodded, but Shrayn just rolled her eyes.

On the Way to the Airport

They all got settled into two cars.

The first car had Eknoor, Guruka, Mandeep, Gurdas, and the driver.

The second car had Arthur and Shrayn.

As Shrayn got into the car, she slammed the door shut with a loud thud, making Arthur grit his teeth.

"Aaram se bhi kar sakti thi. Meri baby lag gayi hogi!" (You could've done it gently. My baby must have gotten hurt!) Arthur whispered, the last part directed towards his Range Rover, making her huff.

"Start the car already!" she snapped.

Without wasting time, he started the engine, and they drove out of the Raizada Haveli.

"Well, now I'll live my life in peace. Finally, you're leaving for one whole week," Arthur said with a wide grin.

"Haan haan, uss moment." (Yeah yeah, uss moment.) Shrayn replied with the same grin, making his smile drop. He shot her a weird look before ignoring her completely.

The drive remained mostly silent after that.

After 30 minutes, they finally reached the airport. It was time for them to part ways—for one week, or maybe forever...?

Maybe.

At the Airport –

"We all are going inside. Come after saying goodbye to Arthur, hmm?" Guruka told Shrayn, making her roll her eyes.
