Shrayn's POV
Why do people hate extroverts so much? Why do they judge us for talking too much? Dude, it's my mouth-I'll talk as much as I want.
I didn't respond, but his words stung. Maybe just a little. But does it matter? No. I was already starting to dislike him, and honestly, I was thinking of leaving this house anyway. I only came here for Dadu. Otherwise, why would I even bother living in someone else's place?
My train of thought was interrupted by the sound of someone clearing their throat. I looked up, and there he was-The Great King of Rajasthan. What was he doing here? Whatever. I had already decided to ignore him.
"What are you doing?" he asked, amusement flickering in his dark eyes.
I answered half-heartedly, and the next thing I knew, he was apologizing. But babe di nu, maer jatti don't care.
"So, are you staying?" he asked, hope evident in his voice.
I shook my head, watching as disappointment clouded his face.
"Are you still mad at me, Sardarni?"
Waheguru, this man needs to stop! What is his obsession with calling me that? I mean, okay, I kinda like it. Fine, I love it. But still!
"Why do you care?" I asked, arching a brow. "And maybe you should leave. It doesn't look good for the King of Rajasthan to sneak into a mere girl's room at midnight, does it? Log kya sochenge?"
I smiled tightly, watching as his expression hardened.
"You know I didn't mean any of it," he tried to justify.
"Whatever you meant, I don't care. Now leave, Mr. Raizada."
I turned away, but from the corner of my eye, I saw his jaw clench. He stood up so fast that the chair scraped against the floor, making me flinch. And then-THUD!-he slammed the door shut behind him.
I scoffed. Bro, are you bipolar? Ghussa kis pe dikha raha hai, kamina! Bhaad mein jaaye, mujhe kya?

Next Day - Arthur's POV
"But what happened, beta? Why are you leaving so suddenly?" Dadasa asked, frowning.
Shrayn sighed dramatically. "Actually, one of my friends lives nearby, and she's forcing me to stay at her place. If I don't, she'll get mad at me."
Huh. Liar. Liar. LIAR.
"Please, Shrayn, stay naa!" Naveer and Arshi whined in sync, giving her puppy eyes.
Since when did they become so close? I narrowed my eyes. Did she do black magic on my family? The way everyone, including me, was acting differently was insane.
"Jaane do, Dadasa. Bohot zaroori insaan hoga," I muttered, locking eyes with her.
"Aap toh chup hi rahein, Arthur. Lemme talk to her."
I rolled my eyes. Why is everyone forcing her when she clearly doesn't care? I regret saying yes to this alliance. She's exactly like one of those 'ameer baap ki bigdi aulaad' types.
