[Ceci and Jack talk on the phone about snow and other things]
September 5, 2024
Jack
Dear Ceci,
Despite all your best intentions and efforts, I could tell that yesterday you were not amped about SNOW.
I forgive you.
When I was there in Detroit, winter was a cold slog over gray, crusty ice and a regular lesson on how a black leather jacket is more like an ice pack than a coat.
But here in Colorado, you may discover winter is a warm fire, peppermint tea with cream and sugar, a book on your lap, the smell of roast chicken in the oven, and peace, only interrupted, by snuggling dogs or a pesky mountain man trying to identify the flavor of your neck just behind your right ear. And later, like wolves who nuzzle and curl together under thick fur, there is spooning under seven layers of quilts and wool blankets to sleep snug and sound through a starry night.
That's winter.

Note From Jack:
Dear Readers,
Ceci and I have been flirting, to one degree or another, for more than 42 years. We haven't published a new chapter here for several years, but that may change. I have posted this recent excerpt to confirm that we are not dead, still warm, and to give the world's beautiful, new, young generation an example of texting beyond emojis and dick pics.
❤️
