Jack

He is covered in tattoos, even his face. His father being shot to death when he was a kid and placement in 32 foster homes has made him one of my hardest clients, like broken concrete in an empty parking lot.

He's trying to say something to me, but sobbing, then crying in fits. So, it sounds more like choking than speech. All the blubbering started this morning at Court when I told him that the DA, after almost two years, now agrees that the five sex assault on a child allegations against him are false.

And all the charges will be dismissed.

And he will not receive a life sentence.

And he is free.

His crying softens to weeping.

He takes a breath and says, "Thank you."
