Power in the wrong hands

It was Senator Kelly

"I'm looking for Dr. Jean Grey." He said between pants before collapsing on Logan, who caught him

As Senator Kelly was getting treated by Jean, Charles came down to see him "Senator Kelly, i'm professor Charles Xavier" He said

Kelly was panting heavily "i was afraid if i went to a hospital, they would-" before he could finish his sentence Charles spoke "treat you like a mutant?"

"We're not what you think. Not all of us." Charles said "Tell it to the ones who did this to me" Kelly sighed

"Senator..." he wheels himself closer to Kelly, his voice soft and soothing, "I want you to try and relax."

Kelly, still visibly shaken, stares at Charles with a mix of fear and disbelief. The Senator's breath is ragged, but he tries to comprehend what is happening to him

Charles leans in slightly, his face a mask of calm, and places his hands on either side of Kelly's head, his index fingers resting gently on Kelly's temples

Lowering his voice to a near-whisper, Charles continues, "I'm not going to hurt you." His tone is sincere, filled with compassion

Charles closes his eyes, focusing his telepathic powers. Kelly's tense expression begins to soften as he feels a wave of calm washing over him

A few moments later Charles was done taking a little peek inside of Kelly's mind, figuring out what exactly happened. What Erik had done to him with the machine-the radiation-was turning humans into mutants

They all met up at Charles's office to discuss things after that, Leaving kelly alone at the medical bay.

"The machine emits radiation, that triggers mutation in ordinary human beings" Charles explained

"But the mutation is unnatural" Jean spoke out "Kelly's body is rejecting it. His cells began to break down almost immediately"

"What effect does radiation have on mutants?" Scott, who was sitting next to Jean, asked

"There appears to be none. But i fear it will seriously harm any normal person exposed to it" Charles stated

Logan, his frustration palpable "So, what does Magneto want with Rogue?" He asked

Charles, seated in his wheelchair with his hands steepled in thought, responds quietly but honestly, "I don't know."

The lack of answers irritates Logan even more. With a grunt of annoyance, he drops what looks like a black backpack to the floor. Without another word, he turns on his heel and begins to storm toward the door, intent on taking matters into his own hands.

"Wait a second," Cyclops interrupts, his voice cutting through the tension like a blade. Logan pauses mid-stride, turning slightly to see what Scott has to say

"You said this machine draws its power from Magneto," Scott continues, a realization dawning on him as he speaks. He looks at Charles with sudden clarity

Charles nods" And it weakened him." his expression growing more serious. "Yes...in fact, it nearly killed him."

Logan, ever quick on the uptake, pieces it together. "He's gonna transfer his power to Rogue and use her to power the machine."

Charles looks at Logan, the realization settling over him. Logan has connected the dots that they hadn't fully grasped yet. Understanding the gravity of the situation, Charles quickly turns to Scott, his voice firm and commanding. "Cyclops, you and Storm ready the jet. I'm going to find Rogue. Jean, get Logan a uniform."

Cyclops, stunned by the rapid shift in the plan, quickly stands up from his seat, his face a mix of surprise and disapproval. "Whoa, wait a minute," he interjects, unable to hide his frustration. "He's not coming with us, is he?"

"Yes," Charles responds, his tone leaving no room for debate

"I'm sorry, Professor, but he'll endanger the mission. And if—" Scott starts to argue, his voice laced with concern, but Logan cuts him off before he can finish

"Hey, I wasn't the one who gave the train station a new sunroof, pal," Logan snaps back, his words dripping with sarcasm

"No, you were the one who stabbed Rogue through the chest." Scott fires back,

Jean, sensing the rising tension, steps in, "Scott"

But before she can fully intervene, Logan, his temper flaring, retorts, "Hey, why don't you take your little mission and stick it up your—"

Before Logan can finish his sentence, the door to the room bursts open. Storm enters, her usual calm demeanor replaced by urgency. "Senator Kelly is dead," she announces, her words cutting through the argument like a cold wind

The room falls silent, the weight of the news sinking in. Charles sighs deeply, the gravity of the situation becoming even clearer. But his expression quickly shifts to one of determination. He looks at Logan and Cyclops, both still bristling with unresolved tension

"I'm going to find her," Charles says with steely resolve. He then turns to the two bickering men, his voice firm. "Settle this."

With that, Charles wheels himself out of the room, leaving Cyclops and Logan to glare at each other

In your bedroom

You were still in yours and Logan's shared bedroom

You were half-worried, itching to ask more questions about whats going on, but since no one had called for you, you didn't go down to check things out yourself—a move that, in hindsight, feels a bit foolish
