As you sat quietly by Professor Xavier's side, the soft beeping of the machines monitoring his vitals filled the room. The low, steady rhythm offered a fragile reassurance. Jean had done everything she could for now, and all that was left was to wait

You leaned back in your chair, absentmindedly running your fingers over the armrest. Your thoughts drifted to the others, already on their way to Liberty Island, ready to face Magneto. The anxiety you'd been suppressing gnawed at you—Logan, Scott, Jean, Storm—they were all out there, and you were stuck here, watching over the Professor.

Charles then he looked at you, his eyes thoughtful. "You don't have to stay here, you know." His tone was gentle, but the meaning behind it was clear. "You could join them. There's still time. I know you want to be out there, helping."

Your heart skipped a beat and your eyes went wide open. You hadn't expected that

"Professor..." you hesitated, torn between your duty to stay and the pull to be with the others. "But what about you?"

Charles smiled faintly. "I'll be fine. The team out there, they're going to need all the help they can get. And you... you've got the potential to make a real difference."

His words hit you hard. For a moment, all you could hear was the pounding of your own heart. The thought of joining the others on this mission both terrified and exhilarated you

You glanced back at him, your mind racing. "Are you sure?"

"I've never been more sure," Charles replied, his voice gaining a bit more strength. "You belong with them. And they'll need you now more than ever."

You sat there, your hand still resting on the back of the chair, uncertain. The idea of leaving Professor X alone didn't sit right with you, even if he insisted he'd be fine

You could feel the weight of responsibility pressing down on your shoulders—the X-Men needed every hand on deck, but wasn't this your duty too?

"Professor... I don't know if I should go," you said quietly, a hint of doubt creeping into your voice. "What if something happens to you while I'm gone? What if... what if they need me and I can't keep up?"

"You're hesitating," he said, his voice kind but firm. "And that's understandable. It's difficult to step into the unknown, to leave behind what feels safe."

You bit your lip, glancing toward the door that led to the mansion's long corridors. The others were already en route, braving danger, fighting for what was right. And here you were, doubting your place, unsure of whether you were really cut out for this.

"You've been part of this team just as much as anyone else," Charles continued. "But I sense you still hold back. You wonder if you're ready, or if you're needed."

You nodded slowly. "I mean... Jean, Scott, Storm, and Logan—they're more directly involved in this. I wasn't there when everything happened with Rogue, so I don't really know the full picture."

You continued "And plus i don't really have that much experience as much as they do"

"Each of us brings something different to the team," he explained. "Yes, they're skilled, experienced. But you...you have your own strength, something that sets you apart. The question isn't whether you're ready—it's whether you're willing to rise to the occasion."

You blinked, surprised by his words

You felt a lump form in your throat. Could you really do this? Could you be what the team needed?
