Rouge was now in the torch of the Lady Liberty, it was cold, freezing even. Being so high up and windy. She could hear Erik giving out orders to everyone as well"Toad, Mystique, stay sharp. We're not alone. And you stay here. Once I give my power to the girl, I'll be temporarily weakened. You'll be my only defense." He told Sabertooth, who was going to follow Mystique and Toad, before being told otherwise
Her hands were tied to the machine, and no matter how much she tried to loosen it, She would not get free

The jet hit the ocean's surface with a bone-rattling thud, skidding across the waves like a rock thrown with too much force. Inside, everyone lurched forward, bracing themselves as the craft groaned in protest. Scott, gripping the controls tightly, winced and muttered, "Sorry."
From the back, Logan's gruff voice cut through the tense silence like a knife. "You call that a landing?" he growled, peeling himself off the seat as if the jet had personally offended him
one by one, they began to climb out of the jet and into the chilly water. The waves slapped at their legs as they waded towards the surface
"The torch," Scott said, gesturing towards the distant glow on the horizon, his voice as clipped and precise as ever
they began to make their way towards the statue of liberty
The interior of the Statue of Liberty was eerily quiet, save for the soft shuffle of the X-Men's footsteps as they moved with purpose
The dim lighting cast long shadows, making the rusted metal beams above creak with the occasional groan of the wind outside. Ahead, a dusty metal detector stood awkwardly, like a relic of a forgotten time, its red light blinking lazily
Reporter: ...within a mile of proceedings. The first dignitaries started to arrive an hour ago, greeted with a sort if garden-party atmosphere, which was designed to entertain them, as the others traversed the rigid security
One by one, the X-Men passed through the detector, a team of stealthy professionals, each slipping through without a sound. Scott, Ororo, and Jean glided past the device with no issue, their focus sharp as they scanned the area for threats
Then came Logan's turn
He stepped forward, his boots thudding heavily against the floor. The moment his body crossed the threshold of the detector, the silence shattered.
(Alarm wails)
A loud, shrill wail erupted from the machine, filling the narrow corridor with its piercing alarm. The rest of the team spun around in alarm
Logan's brow furrowed, and without missing a beat, he bared his teeth in irritation. He quickly extended his adamantium claws with a metallic SNIKT
The shimmering blades gleamed under the dim lights, catching Scott's eye just as Logan lunged toward the metal detector's control panel
With a quick slash, Logan sliced through the wiring, sparks flying for a moment before the alarm abruptly died, leaving an echoing silence in its wake
Logan retracted his claws with a flick, giving the ruined detector a sideways glance
Scott, with his arms crossed, gave Logan a look that could only be described as pure exasperation—Really? his expression said without a word
Logan, not missing a beat, retracted 2 of the claws leaving the middle one, and shot Scott a pointed metal middle finger
The corner of Scott's mouth twitched, and then he let out a laugh
As Logan retracted his claws, he fell in line with the rest of the team, striding forward with his usual swagger. The group moved deeper into the statue's interior, their footsteps echoing softly against the cold metal floors
Just ahead, a small statue of Lady Liberty stood nestled in a corner, looking oddly out of place in the dusty, dim-lit hallway.
Suddenly, its eyes flashed a sinister yellow.
Scott, oblivious to the change at first, was busy scanning the area for threats. He squinted as if trying to see something hidden in the shadows. Beside him, Logan's nose twitched, and he came to an abrupt halt
"There's someone here," Logan growled lowly, his voice carrying just enough edge to make Scott stop and turn toward him.
Scott's brow furrowed. "Where?"
Logan shook his head slightly, eyes narrowing as he tried to pinpoint the scent. "I don't know. But keep your eye open."
Before Scott could press him for more information, Logan started moving forward again, sniffing the air cautiously like a predator on the hunt. His muscles tensed, every sense on alert
Scott reached out to stop him. "Logan." He called out
But Logan didn't even glance back. He simply raised a hand and waved Scott off, a gesture that said, Relax. I've got this. The confidence in his stride was unmistakable as he prowled deeper into the shadowed corridors
"Damn it," Scott muttered under his breath, frustration clear on his face. He knew Logan could handle himself, but his lone-wolf tendencies is definitely gonna make this mission more complicated
Logan disappeared into the corner, leaving the rest of the X-Men scanning their surroundings, their senses heightened. The air was thick with tension as they stood poised, waiting for any sign of an ambush. Scott's gaze darted across the room, his grip tightening on his visor
Moments later, Logan emerged from the shadows, his expression unreadable. Scott turned toward him, already on edge. "Anything?" he asked, his tone sharp, betraying the unease creeping in
Logan shook his head, frustration simmering beneath the surface. "I know there's someone here. I just can't see 'em."
Without warning, Logan's claws extended with a familiar SNIKT, and in a heartbeat, he lunged toward Scott, his eyes wild. Scott barely had time to react as Logan's adamantium claws slashed through the air, aiming directly at him
