_KHALIL_

She can't be the girl I saw in my dream. Even if she was, then she can't be the one.

I didn't even know where I was going when I left that place, perhaps I just wanted to go far away, very far away from the occurring reality.

I just allowed my legs to carry me to the nearest retail shop closest to the event center. I sat on the long wooden bench by the side of the shop, all restless and stuffs.

It was smoke from someone lifting a cigarette beside me that pulled me back to reality, I coughed using my hand to sway the smoke away from my direction.

"You good?" Came a man's voice beside me. The same man smoking the cigarette and when I don't offer a reply, he lighted another extra cigarette and passed it to me.

That's when I looked up moving my eyes from his old face to the burning cigarette he's passing to me.

"This is the medicine you need for all your frustration to go away." He said moving it closer to my face. I've never smoked and I've never thought of smoking before. But now.

I collected the cigarette bringing it to my lips to copy how the guy was smoking it, then I coughed even more after using it.

"Easy..you'll get used to it gradually.." He said and true to his words, a few minutes into using it and I'm already getting used to it. I collected a whole packet and a lighter form the man putting it inside my pocket.

I was smoking when I saw a familiar frame of my brother, Kamil, from a far.

And from the look of things, it seems like he's searching for me. I quickly threw the cigarette on the floor and matched it with the sole of my shoes as I stood up to leave walking towards Kamil.

"Where have you been?" Kamil asked as soon as I stood in front of him.

"Just looking around." I said avoiding an eye contact with Kamil before he sees through my lie.

"Right." Kamil said with a hint of disbelieve in his tone yet he didn't push me on that matter as he continued "By the way how did you get injured?" He asked as we walked back into the event hall. His arm around my shoulder while mine are fisted to my side.

"Just a small cut I got while training the inferiors." I replied with a shrug. This is nothing compared to some other injuries I've suffered.

"My small brother isn't so small now." Kamil said patting my shoulder, I smiled reminiscing old memories. "I guess you could say that." I responded.

We walked side by side towards where our family members where sitting, the event was already coming to a near end and I couldn't be more glad due to how exhausted I already feel.
I tried to give simply answers to any question my parent ask about this minor injury.

The event ended around 3:30, I bid my farewell to Aunt Waleeda, Manal, Imran, Iman and Ya Kamil.

We would have gone sooner if not for how my mother was clinging to Aunt Waleeda's side as they gossip about God knows what. Due to this, we left around 4:30 and even the four thirty, I was the one that reminded my mother that we have to leave.

And then as expected my mother began her scolding about how I don't like to be around family members. Bear in mind, that is not true it's just that I've seen enough for today. I don't want to see that Ilham girl again. Not today.

I walked towards the car we came with, my parents walking behind me. I didn't fail to notice how my father opened the door of the car for my mother to entered before he went to the other side to enter himself. I smiled at that.

I entered my own driver's seat igniting the engine just as I saw the girl from the window as she enters the car together with her family.

Perhaps, the girl felt someone looking at her because she turned to look at my direction the next second while I quickly took my eyes away and drove.

I could hear my mother from the back seat telling my father about how I dreamt about my future wife
"Mama, I never said she was my future wife." I said trying my best not to overspeed as I usually do since I'm driving my parents in the car right now.

If she keeps telling people like this then it's going to make it seems even more real, I've already met the girl and I want it to end at that first meeting but with my mother casting it all over like this. This might really happen.

I sighed

"She has to be your future wife Khalil." Came my mother's response.

"Mama, don't expect a wife from me anytime soon." I gave my genuine reply.

"You're not getting any younger Khalil. Look at your brother Kamil, he's married with a happy family.." My mother began chanting.

She continued "But look at you, you're already 26 but with no wife. No fiancé even."

"I'm 27 Mama." I reminded her.

"You see you're even 27. Your brother got married before that age." She said.

I simply kept quiet while my mother continues to talk about me getting married. I have to admit that Kamil got lucky to have met Aunt Waleeda earlier in his life. They're literally inseparables now.

But I, I just have not met the right person yet. And even if I did, I don't have time for any love now that I'm at the peak of my career.

To be the commander general which is the highest rank is my ultimate goal, not to settle for second to the highest army rank. And I'm sure that marrying will surely be an additional distraction towards my goal.
