   _ILHAM_

I had just prayed asr when I heard my mother calling me, I didn't need to ask to know why she was calling me as I've already guessed that it's the he-devil that has arrived to practically sabotage my day.

I put on a veil that matches my lemon green gown which is one of my  gowns that has side pockets and went downstairs, taking my time in doing so, because trust me I am not ready to face those deep black eyes that keeps on glaring at me every single time.

"Your habibi is here." Amin mocked once he saw me entering the living room. While I successfully smacked his freshly barbed head.

"Ilham don't keep him waiting. Go outside and meet him." My step mother, Hajara said as she fixes my veil for me and used her hand to widen my mouth to form a smile.

"Why does he always stay outside by the veranda?" I asked.

"He said he prefers to stay out." Hajara replied while I nodded "I'm sure he does."

I began making my way out but stopped when my step mother said "Take some snacks to him."  I retreated my steps and was almost about to do that when I decided against it.

"I'm sure he's full." I responded. I took water and drinks on a medium sized tray and went out already catching sight of his familiar form.

I reached his side and suddenly perceived his over strong expensive cologne. I dropped the tray on the plastic table in between us and sat down.

Seconds went by followed by minutes and I could almost agree that a whole 30 minutes passed by without him saying a single word to me. Only staring and looking away, he'll stare and look away and at last just kept on staring.

"Stop starin—" I began speaking only for him to cut me up as he dropped a shiny box on the table and said "I bought this."  Then he looked away and hesitatingly added "For you."

I could see the designer label on it and from the look of it — you could see that it's expensive.

"No thank you." I said refusing to touch it. I never collect stuffs from boys.

"Don't feel too special and carry it." He responded, his glare returning.

"I won't touch it." I replied. I am sure it is not by force to collect a gift.

I watched as he slowly smirked, and then "It's either you carry it or I'll make you do so."

I released a sarcastic laugh, this man is literally openly threatening me to collect some gift I don't want to accept.

"I won't even touch it and that's final." I replied  clearly saying each and every word for his strong head to understand.

I almost decided to run when he got up with the box in his hand and came to my side, I felt myself being pinned to my chair by some invisible force when he fixed his stare on me.

This man's eyes are like the darkest black eyes I have ever seen. I can't help but find it quite mesmerizing.

Even as he went back to sit on his chair, he kept staring at me while I did the same.

"Where's my samosa ?" He suddenly asked breaking me out of my trance.

I released a low breath that I was holding and responded "I can't remember seeing your order."

He raised his eyebrows mockingly, "Didn't know it was sort of like a business something."

"Well. It is." I responded. He should not think I forgot how he was disgustingly looking at my perfect snacks yesterday, that was before he had a bite of them.

And now he expects the snack for free after all those looks yesterday. No way.

He pulled out some stack of cash from his pocket and passed it to me saying he needs the samosas.

"These are too much, just the one for fifteen thousand will be enough for you." I said giving him his stack of cash back while he insisted on getting as much as possible.

When I tried even more and it did not work out, I went back inside with the money to get some of the  already packaged samosas I have at home. My step mothers eyes bulged out when she saw me. I explained to her that he wants some samosas.

"Ilham. Can't you give your future husband some for free. Take his money back to him." Hajara said insisting that he wasn't supposed to pay.

I told her that he will just refuse to collect it back and she allowed me after minutes of chattering. I went into the kitchen, got the samosas and gave Amin the money to hold as I made my way back outside with plenty of rubber containers that has the samosas.

Dropping them on the table, I sat down and watched how he started going for once container already. I actually did not know it tasted that nice.

"Give me your number." He said passing him phone to me. I stared at him confusingly, my brows raised.

"In case I want to order."He added. I nodded in understanding and put the number before passing his iPhone back to him.

I later got a leather for him where he put the other containers inside and left without even a goodbye.

Not that I was expecting one from him.

I made my way back inside with the tray of drinks that he did not even touch. Dropping the tray in the kitchen, I went to the living room where my step mother and Amin are seated watching football.

From the look on my step mother's face, you could tell that it's Amin that forced her to be watching it.

I stood awkwardly when Hajara fixed her gaze on the side pocket of my dress.
"What's that popping out from your pocket?" She asked dragging me to check my pocket.

It was when she pulled out a familiar shiny box that realization hit me.

"Awww. Look at what he gave you." My step mother said admiring the-without a doubt-expensive diamond necklace in the box.

I paused recalling how he was able to put this in my pocket, then reality hit me even more. When he got up to my side, all those minutes of staring at me-he was just trying to put this inside my dress pocket.

While Hajara and Amin fantasize over the necklace-I on the other hand made my way to my room upstairs frustrated. I can't believe he tricked me.

Just then, my phone beeped alarming me of a notification. It was from an unknown number, but from the text I could already guess who sent it. Khalil

'I had to do that. Wouldn't want my mother to be annoyed.' The text says.

'I'll kill you for this general.'  I responded

'Good luck with that.' He messaged back.

I threw my phone on my bed and laid next to it feeling both frustrated and embarrassed. Frustrated that he tricked me and embarrassed that I actually fell for it.
