_KHALIL_

I stopped at some junctions and shared most of the samosas I had bought to some beggars, then went to ya Kamil's house and gave them four containers of it.By the time I reached home after praying in the mosque, I've only two left.

Deciding who I'll give, I made my way inside and co in coincidentally met Abba and Mum watching something in the living room.

"Evening." I greeted generally coming to sit beside mum. She side eyed the container on my hand and I passed the two to them. She read the writings on the container out loud with a hint of suspicion in her tone.

She cleared her throat and began "Ilham's delicacies." Then she turned and looked at me
"You bought this from daughter in law?" She asked.

I turned to look at my father that is nonchalantly eating his own,
"Yes." I said, quickly adding "And she's not your daughter-in-law yet mum."

"Well she's going to be." Said my mum.

I stayed with them for some few more minutes simply staring at the movie they seemed to be really drawn to. I wonder what they find interesting here to be honest, I can almost guess that mum is forcing Abba to watch this.

"Khalil. I almost forgot to tell you." My father started making me to be all ears.

"Mubarak said he hasn't seen your call yet.  Bear in mind that's your senior." He said as a matter of fact- Mubarak is my only senior in the army. His rank is above mine and he almost of the time makes use of this power he has excessively.

I nodded telling my father I'll give him a call. Standing up, I left to my room in quick strides. Locking my door, I made my way to the toilet where I freshened up and changed then sat in my bed.

I carried my phone and called the commander general's number. He picked the call almost instantly, and then "I don't think you'll want to get in my bad side Khalil."

"I think I already am." I replied honestly, this man is something else. To him, you can't speak while he's speaking, you can't raise your eyes to look at him and you just do everything he says even if it's wrong-so far everyone has been following his rules, except for me of course.

"I've been calling you and you decided the best thing to do was to block my former number." He stated. I have even forgotten that I blocked his initial number to be honest.

"What do you have to say? Say it fast." I said, getting bored already.

"Mind how you speak to the commander general of the army Khalil." He said then added
"You in particular are commanded to return back to service by next week."

"What?!" I snapped, "This is a long break for us, it's for some months. Then why am I coming back ?"  He must be very stupid to think he can tell me to come back after just a few weeks of this break. We barely get any break, hardly and now he's telling me that I should return.

"I have some works here that I need you to help me complete." He retorted while I could feel my anger boiling even more.

"Why will I complete your work? Aren't you capable of doing it all by yourself?" I asked.

"Look. This is an order not a favor. Return by next week." I heard him state.

"Guess what-I am not following your order. Learn to do your work by yourself." I removed the phone from my ear and cut the call.

I knew calling Mubarak will make me frustrated, the man abuses his power too much even more than I do. It's quite normal for your juniors not to look up to meet your eyes. My juniors never ever meet my eyes. It's kind of like an obvious rule.

I heard a knock on my door just as I was about to close my eyes. I hissed and opened the door.
"Mum, what happened?" I asked opening the door wider for her to get in.

"Your eyes are red Khalil. Who annoyed you?" She asked and I smiled at how well she knows me. When I get really annoyed, it shows in my eyes.

"Its nothing serious." I replied. She stared at me for some solid seconds before she said "Since it's nothing serious then get ready tomorrow to go to Ilham's house. Don't say I didn't tell you."

After kissing my forehead, she left. I locked the door and went back to my bed.
A ringing notification from my phone made me to reach for it. I got a text message, from Ilham.

'Did you do charity with my samosa?' -ILHAM

I smirked, I had only shared most of it to some beggars I saw on the way. By the way I wonder how she got to find out—

'Maybe I did. I do not know.' I messaged back.

Then she sent me an instagram video link, I tapped on the link of the video that already has millions of likes, and there on the screen, I could see myself sharing the containers to some beggars by the street.

The caption says 'General Khalil sharing food to beggars. We need more people like him in our country.'

I sigh wondering how someone even videoed me. Once you have even an inch of a famous status, then you are e ever safe from people recording you.

'Didn't know you're quite generous.' -ILHAM.

'Not with my words though.' I responded and then dripped my phone on the bed side drawer.

I couldn't help but reach for my phone when I heard another notification sound. It's another text message from her.

'When you're coming tomorrow, dress in an all white outfit.'-ILHAM

'What makes you think I'm coming tomorrow?'I messaged back.

'By the way. It's an order not a suggestion.'-ILHAM.

'I don't do well with orders.' I sent.

'And unfortunately, I know you're coming.' -ILHAM.

I dropped my phone without replying her, this girl just seems to be adding to my headache.
