_ILHAM_

To say that my step mother is super exited for my supposed wedding with Khalil is an understatement. She is literally on the clouds, she tells each and every visitor that comes to our house, she posted it on her social media handle and her Facebook and instagram friends are not believing it.

So just to prove her point to them, she decided to snap a picture of us together and post it. Another reason why she told me to message Khalil to wear white because she believes we will both look good in it.

Another reason why right now I'm dressed in a white gown that is simple and plain yet beautifies me in its own way.

I stepped out of my room when I heard Amin shouting dem downstairs that Khalil is here. I could see my step mother's disappointed face so I asked "What happened?"

"I think you forgot to tell him to wear white." She stated, I peaked through the window only to see a man cladded in an all black outfit seating at by veranda side.

I sigh

"Yes. I think I forgot." I lied.

He  really doesn't do well with orders.

"It's alright though. We can still get the picture like that." She said pulling me out with her.

She sat me down on the chair opposite him and went back to take the picture. I did not fail to catch how Khalil was being confused of the situation. Like chill, my mother only want a picture.

"Alright done." She said and left soon after.

"What was that all about?" He asked, frown lines visible on his forehead.

"She wanted to snap us...dressed alike." I said running my eyes across the black clothes he has on. I hate to admit that it looks even more handsome on him.

"Hmmm." He hummed just as my mother came back with a tray of snacks and drinks.

"I appreciate it." He thanked,

"Oh it's nothing son." She replied going further to ask him questions while he briefly answered her. At some point they completely forgot my presence there and were busy talking to each other like long lost friends.

Setting my eyes on Khalil's phone on the table, an idea came to my head. I can't be following you only for you not to follow me back as if I'm a fan.

I picked up the phone noticing how he side eyed me even while taking to my mum. He would occasionally glance at me but I knew he couldn't tell me to keep it in front of my mum.

No password, great.

I entered his ig and followed myself. And guess what-I am the only one he is following.
More like I am the only one I am following since I was the one that followed myself.

As if doing that was not enough, I carried my phone and sent my pictures to his phone. Then went back to his instagram and posted a picture of myself there and even tagged myself with the caption 'My love.'

Giggling at my devilish work, I decided to do one more thing. I put a password on his phone and dropped it back on the table.

My mother seemed to be  enjoying the conversation because she even sat down on the extra chair and continued with it. After what seemed like hours of chatting, he proposed the idea of leaving.

"You want to leave already?" My mother asked, and he responded with a 'yes' saying he has somewhere else to be. An obvious lie.

"Alright then but I'm sure Ilham will miss you." She added. My eyes bulged out on their own.

"Mama.." I called out indirectly begging her to stop embarrassing me. Like why will I miss him. I'll be the happiest if he leaves.

My mother was the one that him a farewell while I simply went back inside  feeling really embarrassed.

But at-least I have accomplished something because as soon as I turned on my phone, I saw thousands of notifications notifying me of the new followers I'm currently getting. I giggled even more, but then paused once I realized what will happen when he finds out about what I did on his phone.

He'll probably not mind, with that thought in my head I went upstairs and changed my dress.  I prayed Maghrib and went back downstairs to see Amin in the kitchen trying to cook something.

"Oh shift before you burn the whole kitchen." I pushed him aside and began preparing the ingredients for a quick dinner.

"Good evening too to you my dear sister." He said and sat on the kitchen island. Anger evident on his face.

"What happened?" I asked while working. That's when Amin began telling me about his heart break anniversary story. Apparently, he found out that the girl he likes is getting married soon.

"And we're of the same age." He concluded.

"Have you ever spoken to her?" I asked.

"No." Amin responded.

I laughed, then added "She was not meant for you. Better stop liking her since she's going to get married soon."

"You are not helping matters at all." Amin said.

"Because I'm saying the truth, I'm not helping matters again." I stated passing him the onion to cut for me while I do other stuffs.

"This might as well help me cry. Thank you." He said referring to the onion he's cutting right now.

I chuckled at him even more.
