*Alexandria's POV*

I helped the team pack up. "Well I guess I was right, huh? You are a cheerleader." I heard from behind me. I turned around and see the other team's pitcher, standing there, outside the dugout. "It stinks that you spared us the short skirt. I'm sure you'd look hot in a cheerleading uniform" He added. I rolled my eyes.

"Bite me." I said to him

"Oooh, feisty. I like that"

"Don't you have some dogs to run with?" I asked him

"I do have to go but we should hang out sometime." He winked and walked away. I shook my head.

"Great, even more competition!" I heard Joe say and Jamie laughed. I looked at him and raised an eyebrow, not knowing what he meant. I finished helping then grabbed my bag, walking out of the dugout. I look for my brother and saw him talking to coach. I started walking to the car, deciding to wait for him there. About half way, someone called my name. It was Cole. I smiled and stopped walking, listening to what he had to say.

*Peyton's POV*

"So your brother's really going for it then?" Tyler asked me. I looked over at him then followed his gaze. I saw Cole talking to Alex. Wow, he really wasn't kidding. He was really gonna asked her out. I just watched them for a moment. She started giggling then she nodded. She reached into her bag and took her phone out and unlocked it. They exchanged phones and I'm guessing put their numbers into the other's. They hugged and Cole turned around, walking away. I tried to look away before he saw me but it was too late. He smiled and gave me a thumbs up before walking over to my mom. I sighed and sat on the bench. He really did it. He Asked Her Out.

"Hey Peyton. Who's the Giant talking to coach?" Ty asked, pulling me out of my thoughts.

"Huh?" I looked over. "Oh, that's Alex's brother." I told him, turning back to Ty. His eyes widened.

"That's her brother?  Wow, you weren't kidding. He's huge."

"See? I told you. Scary, right?" I said. He nodded.

"Oh yeah... Um, he's coming." I looked over after Tyler said this. He was coming toward me and we made eye contact. I took a deep breath. Alex said he's just a big teddy bear... With biceps bigger than my head. I gulped.

"Peyton" He smirked, dragging out my name. "Come out here for a sec." I quickly nodded and stood, walking out of the dugout. I looked up at him.

"Yes, sir?" I asked. He threw his arm around my shoulders and we began walking away.
"So you invited my sister to dinner and you gave her a ride the other night, and I appreciate that. You helped her out when I wasn't around." I nodded.

"You're welcome, sir." I said to him.

"Did you know that I'm basically all my sister has?" He told me and I shook my head.

"No sir."

"Well I am. And she is also all that I have and because of this, I take really good care of her and of course, I am very protective of her. Do you know where this conversation is going, Peyton?"

"No sir" I repeated

"Peyton, I see the way you two look at each other, the little things you try to do to impress her and of course, the little hug you two shared at the end of the game. I was like you once. I know how teenage boys think. What I'm saying is that Alex better not get hurt. She may be tough on the outside but she's got a fragile heart that is easily broken. Understood?" I nodded. "Good. I've got my eye on you, Peyton."

"Yes sir."

"Also, no more 'sir'. Call me Vincent."

"Yes si— I mean, Vincent." I said and he nodded, smiling

"Atta boy." He patted my back. "Good game, by the way." He turned around, walking toward his car. Once he was gone, I let out an 'ow.' He probably put no force in those two pats but boy, did they hurt. I took a deep breath before walking back into the dugout. All the guys who were still in there gathered around me.

"What happened? What did he say?" Jesse asked. I guess Tyler told them who he was.

"Nothing... He just told me that I played a good game." I told them, half lying. I didn't tell them the full truth because they'd ask me a bunch of questions, probably including whether or not I 'liked' Alex. And, of course, those were questions, that I didn't want to, nor was I ready to, answer. "I've gotta go. I'll see you guys tomorrow at my place." I added. before picking up my bag and walking away to my car, seeing my Mom and Cole standing beside it. Cole was on his phone and My mom was looking over at Alex in her brother's car.

"Goodbye Alex. Will I see you tomorrow at my place?" My mom asked her.

"Um, no..." Alex raised an eyebrow, "D-did you invite me? I'm sorry, Mrs. Meyer. I must have just forgotten."

"Oh, no dear. I hadn't. I thought—" My mom looked at me. "You didn't invite her?" She whispered. I shook my head, chuckling, before looking at Alex.

"But you can come over if you want, Alex." I told her and she smiled, nodding. I smiled back until her brother leaned forward and look at me. My smile quickly faded and my heart quickly raced.

"Goodbye Peyton." He smirked. I quickly waved, staying silent. "Goodnight Mrs. Meyer." He added and my mother said goodbye, before he took the car out of park and drove away. Cole looked at me.

"Who was that?" He asked.

"Her brother."

"Woah." He said before going to my mom's car. I rolled my eyes. Little did Vincent know, He gave that speech to the wrong Meyer. My mom looked at me.

"Great game, honey." She said, rubbing my back, right where Vincent patted me. I winced. "Are you alright?" She asked.

"Oh yeah, I'm fine. Thanks mom... I'll see you at home." My mom smiled and turned away, trailing behind Cole to her car. I let out a breath and unlocked my doors, throwing my bag into the trunk before getting in and driving away.

Now, back to the story. Can you believe Cole asked out Alex? That's against Bro Code... I think. And what about that other teams, pitcher. What an ass, right? Thoughts on Vincent's talk with Peyton?

Also, I have something to ask and I'm gonna need as many of you to answer as possible. I'm going on vacation so I won't be able to update this too much, so I have a question:

Would you guys prefer me to write one or two short chapters while I'm on vacation or would you rather just wait a little more than week for a good, longer chapter...
