The morning sun streamed through the windows of U.A. High as students settled into their seats for the day. Kenji had arrived early, feeling more on edge than usual after last night’s encounter with Felix and the mysterious stalker. His side still throbbed from the injury, but he hadn’t dared visit the nurse. It wasn’t the first time he’d hidden injuries, but today was going to be trickier than usual.

He sat quietly, listening to Ren’s usual stream of chatter. The classroom door slid open, and the noise level dipped immediately. Kenji didn’t have to look to know who had just walked in—he could feel the shift in the air.

Felix.

The cocky grin on Felix’s face was impossible to miss as he sauntered into the classroom, looking perfectly at ease despite the bandages visible beneath his school uniform. He scanned the room briefly before his eyes landed on Kenji.

"Yo!, Kenji" Felix began "surprised?"

"Felix?"Kenji said confused.

Ren, of course, immediately darted over, curiosity burning in his eyes. "Yo, who’s the new guy?"

Felix introduced himself smoothly. "Felix Morales. I’m an exchange student from Spain."

Ren’s eyes widened, buzzing with excitement. “Spain? That’s awesome! Wait—do you know Kenji?” He glanced back and forth between them, not missing the subtle tension in the air.

Kenji tensed slightly, hoping Felix wouldn’t spill anything. Before he could react, Felix, always quick on his feet, shrugged casually.

"Yeah, we bumped into each other yesterday. Kenji was… uh…" Felix paused for a second, a flicker of something mischievous passing through his eyes before he quickly masked it. “He was showing me around the area.”

Kenji shot him a look, trying to subtly warn him to stop talking, but Felix smirked knowingly and added, “Right, Kenji?”

Kenji forced a smile, stepping in to cover up the potential slip. “Yeah. No big deal.”

Ren laughed, completely buying the cover story. “Man, Kenji, I didn’t know you were the tour guide type.”

Kenji shrugged. “I’m not.”

Felix chuckled under his breath, clearly enjoying the awkwardness he’d just stirred up. Before Ren could ask any more questions, Aizawa-sensei walked in, effectively silencing the classroom.

“Everyone, sit down. We have a new student joining us. Felix Morales. Make him feel welcome and show him around."

Felix gave a polite nod to Aizawa, but Kenji could see the playful glint in his eye. Felix was definitely more interested in stirring up trouble than fitting in.

As Aizawa launched into the day’s lesson, Kenji struggled to keep his focus. His side ached, and he knew it was only a matter of time before someone noticed. Felix had seen the injury yesterday, and if he wasn’t careful, others might too.

Kenji couldn’t afford to be reckless.

Later that day, the students gathered in the gym for their sparring lesson. As Kenji entered the locker room, he felt a sharp sting in his side. He tried to ignore it, but Felix had already noticed, watching him from the corner of his eye as they changed into their training gear.

The locker room buzzed with chatter, but Kenji could feel Felix’s gaze lingering. He quickly turned his back to the others, trying to keep his bandaged side hidden as he changed.

“You should sit this one out,” Felix muttered quietly, standing beside him. His voice was low enough that no one else could hear. “You’re injured. It’s too suspicious if you push yourself.”

Kenji glared at him, pulling his shirt on carefully. “I can handle it.”

Felix raised an eyebrow, leaning in just enough for their conversation to stay private. “You can barely move without wincing. I don’t think you can handle it.”

Kenji’s jaw tightened. “I don’t have a choice. If I sit out, people will ask questions.”

Felix’s eyes flicked over to the other students, who were too absorbed in their own conversations to notice the exchange. “And if you collapse in the middle of a fight, you think that won’t raise questions?”

Kenji narrowed his eyes, but Felix didn’t back down. “You’ve been running on fumes since yesterday. You need to rest, or you’re going to get yourself killed.”

Kenji knew Felix was right, but the idea of sitting out when everyone was watching made his skin crawl. It would draw more attention than he wanted.

“I’ll be fine,” Kenji insisted, his tone harsh.

Felix shook his head, sighing. “Your call, but don’t say I didn’t warn you.”

As they locked eyes for a brief moment, Kenji could see the genuine concern in Felix’s expression. Despite his cocky attitude, Felix wasn’t just messing around. He was worried.

But Kenji had never been good at accepting help. He turned away, adjusting his gear and steeling himself for the lesson ahead.

The sparring session began, and Kenji did his best to stay under the radar. The pain in his side flared up every time he moved too quickly, but he forced himself to push through it. He couldn’t afford to let anyone see him struggling.

Felix, on the other hand, seemed perfectly at ease. His movements were fluid, precise—controlled in a way that made it clear he wasn’t just some random exchange student. His wind-based quirk gave him an edge, allowing him to manipulate the air around him to create bursts of speed or soften incoming attacks.

Kenji tried to focus on his own match, but his mind kept drifting back to Felix. The guy had skills. More than he’d let on.

As the session went on, Kenji’s movements grew sluggish, and the throbbing pain in his side became harder to ignore. He managed to avoid any direct confrontations, but it was clear to anyone paying attention that he wasn’t at his best.

After what felt like an eternity, Aizawa called an end to the sparring lesson. Kenji exhaled in relief, grateful that he’d managed to make it through without raising too many suspicions.

Felix, standing a few feet away, caught his eye again. He didn’t say anything, but the look on his face spoke volumes. He’d seen Kenji struggling and knew it wasn’t over yet.

As the students began filing out of the gym, Ren jogged over, his usual energy still intact. “Man, that was intense! Felix, you were awesome out there!”

Felix grinned, wiping sweat from his brow. “Thanks. I’ve had a lot of practice.”

Ren clapped him on the back, oblivious to the tension between Felix and Kenji. “You’ll fit right in here, man. I can already tell!”

Kenji stayed quiet, trying to push past the pain long enough to make it back to the locker room. He had to be careful now—Felix was right. If he wasn’t more cautious, people would start asking questions. And Kenji didn’t have any good answers.

As they left the gym, Felix shot Kenji a final glance, his expression serious despite the smile he’d plastered on for everyone else.

“Be careful” Felix muttered under his breath, just loud enough for him to hear.

Kenji nodded once but said nothing, already dreading what was coming next.
