Perfect/ Legolas Greenleaf

Chapter five

The group ran after Gandalf who was leading the way, the screeching of orcs behind them just showing that they have to hurry and not slow down.

After a time, they had to stop as the creatures climbs from the ceiling and the stones and surrounded the fellowship.

Luna held her bow tightly as she aimed it at any orc that dared to step closer.

Then, a growling could be heard, a light be seen not too far away which also made the orcs retreat. It was as if they were scared of something, but if they are scared, then the fellowship should run away as fast as they could.

"What is this new devilry?"Boromir asked as Luna and Legolas lowered their bows.

"A balrog."Gandalf spoke after a time, as the growling got kind of louder,"A demon of the ancient world. This foe is beyond any of you. Run!"

You don't have to tell me twice. Luna thought as she grabbed Legolas's arm and began to run, just like the rest of the fellowship.

Boromir was at the front as they exited the big hall, he ran down the steps but came to a sudden halt which almost made Luna run into him. He stopped at the edge as he tried to regain his balance, but failed which made Luna grab his armor and pull him back.

"Gandalf."Aragorn spoke.

"Lead them on,Aragorn. The bridge is near."Gandalf ordered, as he pushed Aragorn into the right direction,"Do as I say! Swords are no more use here."

They continued to run, the orange glow seeming too near for Luna's liking but none of them stopped.

That was until they reached a gape between the bridge. Legolas first to jump before Luna followed his move, making him hold out is arm as if to make sure she wouldn't fall down.

"Gandalf!"Legolas said and moved his hand in a gesture so the wizard would jump, which he did as Legolas helped him.

Then suddenly, arrows and spears were thrown/shot in their direction, making Luna realize the orcs are back. Legolas shot an arrow at one of the orcs, hitting right between its eyes.

"Legolas, focus on getting them to safety. Leave the orcs to me."Luna said as she aimed her bow at one of the orcs and shot, Legolas nodded and turned around again to assist the rest of the fellowship to make the jump.

Boromir grabbed Merry and pippin under his arms as he jumped over the gap, which made the stone break up a bit, making the gap bigger.

"Sam."Aragorn said and threw the hobbit over, Boromir and Legolas catching him.

"Nobody tosses a dwarf."Gimli spoke stubbornly as Aragorn turned to him. He instead, jumped himself which was a mistake as he almost fell if Legolas wouldn't have grabbed him by his beard,"Not the beard!"

"Be grateful, dwarf!"Luna scoffed as she shot an orc who had aimed for Legolas and Gimli.

"I'm not grateful towards an elf!"Gimli argued as Luna send him a glare and Legolas just rolled his eyes.

The bad thing was that even more stone broke, making it impossible to jump for Frodo and Aragorn.

"Hold on!"Aragorn ordered, as just a bit later the staircase they stood in began to sway forth and back,the growling of the Balrog grew louder and the orange glow grew lighter.

"Lean forward!"Aragorn spoke, making Frodo obey as the staircase slowly fell towards the rest of the fellowship.

"Come on!"Legolas said, just as Aragorn gave the sign and he and the hobbit jumped.
