It's been since two hours hassena went headquarters. Karishma finished the last of her tasks, carefully closing the file before stretching with a small sigh of relief. She stood up, her gaze shifted toward Pushpa G, who was busy with her own work.
"Aaj kis ki night duty hai?" Karishma asked, her voice carrying the weight of a long day.
"Cheetah aur Santu ki duty hai." Pushpa G looked up and replied.
"Theek ha phir humra kaam ho gaya ab hum gahr ja rahy han...."
"Kya Madam Sir wapis nahi aengi thanny?" Pushpa g asked.
Karishma shook her head. "Nahi, ab time khatam ho gaya hai, aur waise bhi wahan se ghar zyada kareeb hai. Woh ghar hi jaayengi."
"Ji," pushpa g nodded, understanding. Just then, her phone rang, Haseena’s name lighting up the screen. She quickly answered, "Ji, Madam Sir?"
There was a brief pause as Haseena spoke, and Karishma’s expression softened. "Ji... theek hai," she replied, cutting the call.
"Kya hua? Kya kaha Madam Sir ne?" Pushpa G, noticing the small smile on Karishma’s face, raised an eyebrow.
Karishma quickly composed herself, "Kuch nahi, hum chalty hain. Aap bhi sambhal ke jayiega."
With that, Karishma left the station, stepping outside where the cool evening air greeted her. She spotted the jeep and headed towards it. Opening the door, she slid into the passenger seat and was met with Haseena’s warm smile.
"Madam Sir... aap yahan kyun aayi wapic?" Karishma asked, with surprise.
Haseena tilted her head slightly, "Aapko pick karne. Aur kyun aaty abi.?"
Karishma blinked, feeling a small flutter in her chest. "Aap wahan se ghar bhi ja sakti thi... hum aa jatay khud hi."
"Koi baat nahi, Karishma Singh. Waise bhi hum koshish yehi karte hain ke zindagi se aap ke saath jitne lamhe chura sakte hain, chura lein."
The warmth in Haseena’s voice melted Karishma’s heart. There was a time when she had longed to be around Haseena, and now, here she was, making every effort to spend as much time with her as possible. It was overwhelming, and it warmed her in a way she couldn’t quite describe.
"Kiyun ap ko acha nae laga...." She asked.
"Nae asi bat nae ha bas ap ko itna lamba rasta lana para is liyya...." Karishma tried to reason.
Haseena looked at her for a moment before saying, "I can go miles for you....."
Karishma heart melted at her words, She glanced away for a moment, trying to hide the emotion welling up inside her, before looking back at Haseena. "Aap...," she began, but the words caught in her throat. Haseena just smiled, the kind of smile that said everything without a single word.
After a while Karishma settled more comfortably in her seat, glancing sideways at Haseena before asking, "Madam Sir, aapko itna der kyu ho gayi?"
Haseena's eyes flickered toward her, then back to the road. There was a brief hesitation before she clarified, "Nahi... humara matlab tha, koi meeting thi kya?"
Haseena let out a small sigh, shaking her head slightly. "Nahi, Karishma Singh, Koi meeting nahi thi. Infact, hum unse mil hi nahi paye."
"Kahee....?" Karishma frowned in confusion.
"Wo aaj aaye hi nahi headquarters," Haseena said with exhausted voice. "Humne bohot wait kiya, lekin nahi aaye. Aur constable humein yehi kehta raha ke tori dare ma aayenge . Phir ab humse aur wait nahi hua... toh hum aage chale gaye."
